Social Media ObsessionFacebook and the social media obsession has been in the news a lot lately. People spend their days filming their kids with a phone instead of watching with their own eyes. There was an article I read a couple of months ago. A restaurant chain was trying to figure out why they were making half the money they normally did, yet they were as busy as ever. So they went and looked at the security tapes. And they learned.

They realized even though the restaurants appear busy it was filled with the same people all night long . People used to come in and out, in and out. Eat dinner, leave and a table would be turned. They found they were turning the table a lot more 10 years ago.  Why?

Because people are obsessed with social media. People now stop the meal in the middle, take pictures, post it on Facebook, have waitresses take pictures of them and see the postings etc.  People are spending more time on their phones and less time chewing their food, which in turn was not allowing the restaurant to turn the tables.

The social media obsession has also prevented us from meeting great people.  We’re so obsessed with what happens in social media that we forget about what’s happening all around us. In real life. We’ve stopped looking at the beautiful moments happening around us and pay way too much attention to our phones. Sharing with a bunch of friends you don’t even know, or care about.

Check out today’s video.  It’s going to give you some tips on how to get back into the present world, the world that you need to be a part of in order to meet great people.
