Adult frat boysI went out a few weeks back with my friend, Kim. We went to this place called Mastro’s. They opened up a new one on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. It replaced what was there before and I wanted to check it out. I’d heard really great things about it. We sat down, and we’re getting ready for a great meal, when I spot the “Santa Monica Five” sitting next to us.

There were five guys, all between the ages of 45 and 52, acting like a bunch of frat boys. They were bro-hugging and “amen-ing” every couple of minutes. They were high fiving each other when they said something “funny.” They had big glasses of wine in their hands, which is what adult frat boys drink instead of beer. They were just loud.

Then they started using pickup lines on the waitress and other girls walking by. They were doing one of the old pickup lines you see on the Internet about, “Let me guess what number you’re thinking about between one and seven.”

One guy actually turned to us and said, “I hope we’re not being too loud. I just have a good time when I’m out with friends, ever since my wife decided to let me date.”

They were every ridiculous cliché imaginable. The waitress they kept trying to touch and bring into the frat party, rolled her eyes as she made her way over to talk to them. They were frat boys in every way, shape, and form of the term. It just makes me laugh when I see adult frat boys like this.

It’s always the same group of guys. They’re always drinking, and acting like little boys. Now, next to us on the other table, was a group of sophisticated guys. These older guys were probably in their late 50’s, early 60’s. They were just sitting, having a great meal, having great conversation with each other, talking nicely to the waitress, calmly enjoying each other’s company and not being loud and obnoxious.

How Do YOU Act When You’re Out With Friends?

There’s nothing more obnoxious than the frat boy or sorority girl when they’re out. An adult that acts like that just looks stupid. They look like they’re having the time of their life on a Thursday night, out getting drunk with their friends. It’s not a turn on for women at all. You’re not standing out in the crowd. You’re looking like the idiot in the crowd. You look no different than you did when you were 18, 19, or 20 years old, in a frat house.

The trouble is, men like this never grow up. You see them out every single Friday and Saturday night, acting like fraternity boys. Most the time, this group of guys goes home alone. The thing is, they’re not bad guys at all. They’re actually nice. It’s just the way they act winds people up and repels women. It’s time to grow up boys. When you’re out of college, you’re no longer fraternity boys. You no longer have to high-five your friends in a bar, or stand in the middle of the room to try and get attention. Life isn’t a giant fraternity party, and most women are just not attracted to that.

What they’re attracted to is cool, calm, and confident, men who are actually sophisticated. They’re attracted to the man that looks like he can hold his alcohol, the man that looks like he’s not posting fraternity boy pictures on Facebook about their great night out drinking.

In life, women are attracted to the man that has the confidence, and not the man who feigns the confidence. Think about that the next time you’re acting like a fraternity boy. Think about why women run away from that, or why you may only be getting the sorority girls. And let me tell you, women do exactly the same thing. They go out like they’re sorority girls. They’re all out there giggling and laughing really loud. They’re out there falling over drunk, and it’s not a turn on to most men either. Maybe the frat boys and sorority girls should get together and pretend they’re 18 again!

It’s just not what women want guys!
