A lot of people ask me how can I write so many articles?

When I think about it, I’ve probably written around 10,000 articles, created 200 to 300 hours of audio programs, over 100 video programs and logged in thousands of hours of seminars.

When you look at those numbers, it’s crazy.

Aside from the amount of time spent creating these articles, seminars and audio/video programs, each time it requires a new and fresh topic.

When people ask me, how do I stay inspired, it’s a great question. How do I do it? Who is my muse? Well, I finally have the answer to your questions.

My work is art. As any artist, I get my inspiration from situations or conversations that occur during my day. I take those moments and create it into a piece of art.

Actually, my inspiration to write this piece came to mind when I was listening to the 70s station on Sirius. I got into my car, turned the radio on and listened to a DJ talk about Paul McCartney and the breakup of the Beatles.

In 1970, he wrote the song, “Maybe, I’m Amazed”, which was inspired by the love of his life, Linda. It was because of her that he pushed forward with his music. Through every article I write, stems from an inspiration, every program I do was born from an inspiration.

Though I use Paul McCartney as an example, my inspirations are not all from women, but there have been women in my life that have been my muse.

Aside from my exes, people I’ve met on the street and shared a couple words with have inspired me to write. But inspiration doesn’t have to come from a conversation or an experience.

When I feel inspired by something, that is when I create an article or program from that inspiration.

For instance, my daughter has inspired many of my blog posts, as well as her mother. Though these women play a big part of my life, my inspiration also stems from women that I’ve been on one or two dates with or had a conversation with while standing in the line at Starbucks.

Comments and letters sent in by subscribers also inspire many of these blog posts.

Inspiration is Everywhere, You Just Have to be Open to it

Many people think that artists are constantly looking for inspiration, however, real artists are not hunting for it. Life is a muse where inspiration is constantly being created, it just depends on whether or not you choose to see it as inspiration. The trick is to be open and aware of the inspiration that shows up in front of you. It really is that simple.

Every day, I wake up and ask myself one question: how am I going to be inspired today? After I ask myself that question, I don’t think about it or search for anything. I stay open-minded and know that it will show up in any way that it wishes. Whether it shows up in the form of a beam of sunshine on my face, a conversation with my daughter or a trip to the market, inspiration is there.

However, there are days where I don’t feel like creating magic on paper – and that’s okay. It is my choice to decide if I want to take what’s in front of me. But when I do take the inspiration, the words just flow out.

At that moment, I’ve tapped into true being and am truly alive. The words do not just flow out because I found my inspiration funny or truth telling, but rather because I’m fully present and connected to the experience. That is the true power. That’s how I create and am inspired every single day.
