there is no tomorrowRecently, it’s become a trifecta of really cool inspirational people who passed away.

Wayne Dyer, who’s one of the most evolved people I’d ever met recently passed. I’m sure he was aware of all the tributes that would be written about him. He was just that type of person, prepared for death, prepared for his soul to go somewhere else. Prepared for his work to go elsewhere, and he knew he left a legacy behind. What a legacy he left. He was amazing and his work beautiful.

Wes Craven has also passed recently. Who is not scared shitless by “Nightmare on Elm Street”? Wes Craven ruined so many kids’ dreams. Wes Craven was one of the most talented directors ever. He’s also gone. Craven passed at the same age as Wayne Dyer. They were both 75 years old.

Oliver Sacks, for those of you who don’t know his name, actually wrote the book that became one of the greatest movies ever, “Awakenings.” Watch it with DeNiro and Robin Williams. It’s a beautiful movie, and it’s really one of the most powerful things you’ll ever see.

Which leads me to why I’m writing this…

I’ve already written a blog about Wayne Dyer, click here to read that.  What I’m writing about is all the rest of you that still have an opportunity to live, and to experience life. I’m writing to those who are able to find love. I’m writing to those able to spend time with kids, friends, and family.

I’m writing to those able to do things you want to do. But here’s something that is a dark reality, and a reality you all need to embrace. Whenever you go to sleep at night, there’s no guarantee that there’s going to be a tomorrow. You lay in bed at night, turn the lights out, and crawl under the blankets, you have the right temperature in the room, the air conditioning, the heat, whatever it might be, the windows wide open. You hear the sound of crickets at night.

Maybe you have your lover next to you, or your significant other. Maybe your kids are tucked away in the room near you.

Here is the deal…

There is no tomorrow. There’s no guarantee that you’re going to wake up. So all the things that you have on your to-do list for tomorrow and all the other tomorrow’s may never happen. Today may actually be your last day on this planet. Today you may actually be the last day that you are you. How does that make you feel right now? There is no tomorrow. There’s no guarantee that you’re going to wake up. So all the things that you have on your to-do list for

This article is not about death, this article is about living. With no promise of tomorrow, how are you spending today? Because all we have, is the present moment. Having no promise of tomorrow really also means there’s no promise of 10 minutes from now.

You can walk across the street and get hit by a bus, no problem. With no promise of tomorrow, and no promise of the future, what are you going to do today that’s going to make your day amazing?  Imagine if you had the mindset that this was your last day on the planet every day.  Every minute was your last minute.

Imagine if you actually took that mindset and started living. Because that’s what happens. When you realize there’s no promise of tomorrow, you start living a fuller, more fulfilling life. You’re not leaving life on the table. You’re going up to people and talking. You’re getting things done and you appreciate the beautiful moments. You’re appreciating your friends, and the people around you.  I want you to think about this concept.

You’re not promised tomorrow.  You’re not even promised 10 minutes from now.  Think about that today, as you go through your life, wishing and wanting other things.  This is your life.  It’s time to live it.  It’s a beautiful, amazing, powerful experience when you let go of all the tomorrows that you want to experience, and just experience the power of now.
