reach your goalsAre you someone who loves setting yourself a goal? Do you regularly achieve the things you strive for, or do you struggle to keep yourself motivated?

For the first time in my life, I’ve been working with a personal trainer. Even though my whole life I’ve been into working out, I’ve always done it on my own. When I was in my 20’s I was heavy into bodybuilding and weight lifting. I was big up top, and tiny on the bottom. I never worked my legs. It was always about my arms, chest, and back.

I used to work out pretty heavy really. I didn’t start slimming down until my mid 40’s. So anyway, I recently decided to start working with a trainer. We’ve been working together for probably about 6 weeks now. It’s funny, today we were working out and he looks at me and says, “You know, your arms are getting bigger. You have muscle memory. They may have slimmed down but it won’t take them long to get back to where they were. Same thing with your chest.”

He knows I never lifted on my legs so there’s no muscle memory there at all. I swear I was a Viking or something in one of my past lives. So here’s the thing…

We set a goal for me. It’s so much fun to set a goal and create that spark of intent. My goal for my body which I’m going to share with all of you now is just to put on 10 pounds of muscle om my legs, chest, and back. But more importantly to work even more on my core. I’ve done a lot of core exercises over the last couple of years, and it feels really good to build up your core. It’s not just about having 6-pack abs either.

When you build your core, you feel more grounded. You feel more in touch with yourself. You feel more connected. When you feel your core muscles working all day long you feel so connected to your body, and so connected to yourself. It feels really good. I wanted to tell you guys I have my own stuff I work on. I just wanted to share with you today.

I tell you guys to work on things all the time. I do that because I’m always working on things too. It’s the only way to keep moving forward in life. So who has some goals they want to share today? Let’s share some goals and talk about what you’re going to do to accomplish them. What are you doing every single day of your life to accomplish a new goal or new way of thinking? It doesn’t matter whether it’s becoming better with women, or starting your own business. A goal is a goal.

Let’s keep the conversation fun. I want to see what inspires you guys, and what drives you as men.
