So, as you looked down at your groin this morning, it looked different…

It felt different…

It even tingled in a new way…

You’ve got something.

“Something” being an STD.

And there are so many things you can get nowadays: herpes, warts, HPV, to name a few. Let’s not forget about AIDS.

I feel for anybody who has any sexually transmitted disease, I truly do.  My heart goes out to you and you know what? I’m sorry that you have that.

But it doesn’t give you the right to pass it on.

That’s right, you heard me.  It doesn’t give you the right to pass it on to a trusting, unsuspecting partner.

Everyday I get an email from one of you guys, and you know what it says?

David, I was with a woman a few weeks ago and she left me the greatest gift of all.

I think to myself, “What is that, a child?”

And usually it’s never a child. It’s a different kind of responsibility called herpes. Not a responsibility any of you deserve to have.

For those of you that have a sexually transmitted disease, I feel for you, but at the same time, you have no right to pass it on to anyone.

It’s like the person who has the flu and they get on an airplane. You had no right to be on an airplane that day and pass it on to other people.

Or the person that comes into work coughing and sneezing all over the place. There’s something called “sick days” for when you’re deathly ill.

Use them.

It’s all about being conscientious about people.

The person that has herpes—or any other sexually transmitted disease—and passes it on to other people is somebody that has absolutely no morals at all. I find them worse than criminals.

If you’ve got an STD and you pass it along to somebody without warning him or her, you’re a complete scumbag. You piss me off more than anything.

Life is about being honest. There are plenty of people that have herpes that you can date.  There’s plenty of people out there that would still maybe even date you if you cover up, protect yourself, don’t have sex during the time when you break out, or whatever it might be. But nobody deserves to get any sexually transmitted disease passed on to them by somebody who is aware that they have it in the first place.

I know I’ve repeated myself quite a lot throughout this whole post.  I hope the message is coming in loud and clear.

Be honest.

Speak up.

Be considerate.
