Do you want to know how important it is to show appreciation? I’m going to explain why right now.

Recently, I’ve been listening to the Ho’oponopono Hawaiian meditation of reconciliation and forgiveness.

It was strongly suggested by my coach to listen to it. So I started doing that. And it’s pretty amazing when you listen to his meditation because you can feel your heart opening.

You can feel the words,

  • I love you
  • I’m sorry
  • Please forgive me
  • Thank you

So much of our lives are blocked with negative energy.

So much of our lives are blocked by acting like victims.

Making demands on other people that are unrealistic.

Being angry and pissed off at exes or friends that have done you wrong.

The whole point of this meditation is to literally be loved, show love and to show appreciation.

So today, as I’m driving around (usually not in a very appreciative mood when you drive around Las Angeles because you’re constantly dealing with traffic) I decided to share with you my appreciation methods.

It starts with my parents.

I appreciate my mom and dad, even though they’re no longer here with us right now. I appreciate that they did the best job possible with bringing myself up with my brother and sister.

I appreciate my brother. I appreciate his friendship, the relationship we have, and the love that we share.

I appreciate my daughter.

The beautiful little girl that has taught me so many lessons about life. I appreciate her smile, I appreciate her creativity, I appreciate her curiosity and I appreciate every moment that I have with her.

I appreciate my daughter’s mother for the wonderful care she has given my daughter, the love that she gives her every single day.

Even though my ex and I have not been together in over five years, I still appreciate the fact that she is the mother of my daughter, and without her I would never have been able to experience the magical ride called fatherhood.

I appreciate my friends.

They’re different, yet all the same in some ways.

I appreciate my friend Greg, with whom I definitely have an interesting history. But I appreciate his friendship more than anything because he’s always there for me when I need him. At any given moment, he’s there for me.

I appreciate Brett. We met 47 years ago. The great conversations we have, even though we do have six or seven a day, I always appreciate them in so many ways. You truly know how to be an amazing friend and I appreciate that the most.

John, I just appreciate all the times we spend together, the laughing that we have, the funny videos that we make, the friendship that we have and how we can support one another to be the best that we can be.

Obie, you’re like my brother.

When we first met I was mentoring you. Now, you’re returning the favor and supporting me and mentoring me in ways that I need to be mentored at this moment.

I appreciate that on so many levels.

Larry, from the second we met you were my soul brother.

I appreciate the hell out of our relationship. Every time we talk, every time we connect, every time we hang out, it’s always so much fun to be able to talk.

And I appreciate all the rest of you in my life. There’s quite a number of you.

Brian, without you I never would have been in this business. You forced me to really stay focused. And every time we spend together when I go to New York or you come here to LA is always greatly appreciated. I appreciate every moment with you and eventually we will go on that vacation together.

There’s so many other people I can write down, people that work for me, people I may meet on a daily basis.

I appreciate everybody for how they affect my life.

Eddie, my friend, you called out a lot of things way before I was able to not only acknowledge them, but before I event wanted to see them. You’ve never held back and you’ve always had my back at all times. I should have listened to you earlier about certain things, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate you. We all have our journey, and our journey is sometimes definitely one that we need to explore on our own. Even though your advice was amazing, I still needed to go through the things I needed to go through.

I appreciate everybody I come into contact with. I appreciate all of my customers. I appreciate all my coaching clients for having the faith and trust in me to be able to inspire and help them in their lives.

I appreciate where I live. I appreciate everything in my life.

Now, what I want you to do is: do the same thing for you in your own life.

I want you to take out the negativity.

I want you to take out the anger that you have for people.

I want you take out the childhood stories and everything else, and I want you to show appreciation for every single person in your life. And I want you to see how much better you feel after you do this, after you do your appreciation.

You’ll see how much more powerful you become, but not only that, how much better you feel as a person.
