What Your Dreams Are Telling You

I woke up the other morning with just a very uneasy feeling. I had been having some kind of very weird dream.

I’ve never before written in the blog about dreams and about what they mean. Really, though, dreams are just a manifestation of what is in your subconscious mind.

A lot of you have so many things you’re thinking about all day long, but about what do you dream? What are your dreams?

Do you ever listen to your dreams? Do you write down about what you dream?

Dreams are something that I believe can have some powerful messages. In my dream that other night, for instance, everybody hated me. No, it wasn’t a nightmare. The dream was really more about my dad.

In the dream, I was trying to reach him again and trying to get through to him. He passed away a long time ago, but yet in this dream I was trying to reconnect with him in some way.

It is so interesting that my dream was about having trouble reconnecting with people, because my life is about connecting people. In the dream, however, I was having a tough time with it.

That is something I wanted to share with you, but really not the main thing I wanted to talk about today. I want to talk about something a little different about dreams.

About what do you dream? Have you ever had dreams that really just disturb you? Do you ever have dreams that give you a message . . . maybe about things you (or at least your subconscious) know you should be doing in your life?

Let’s talk about dreams today…

    THANKS FOR THE BLOG TODAY

    Absolutely, brother!

  4. the blog picture is so nice!

  5. Mikko-

was there a time in your life that you remember what you dreamed about?

  6. I agree howe the blog picture idea is great right!

  7. The weirdest dream I had was about a month ago, and I still remember about it b/c it was so crazy, I couldn’t stop thinking about it for days, and I really felt like there was a message behind it.

I had a dream that there were bunch of long woman’s hair growing in my mouth, I pulled few with my hands, it was so painful, I was bleeding and I want it all to be gone, but i couldn’t!

When woke up in the morning first thing I did was gargle my mouth for few minuets, and I felt like something was not right!

I always wondered what it meant……..

  8. CJ-

That’s a weird dream, i would suggest stop going down on a woman for sometime:)

  9. I think that’s what it means.

  10. 5-10 years ago I used to dream I was being hunted and slayed by armed psychopaths… then I would wake up with a pain wherever I was stabbed or shot on my body. That ever happened to anyone?

Then 2-5 years ago I went through a phase of fairly even bare nuckle fights. Now my dreams seem to be pleasant. I believe its down a gradual increase in confidence, positivity and self-assurance.

  11. very interesting blog today D.

I feel like as I get older its harder for me to remember my dreams, i will have to think of one to share with you.

Have you figured out what your dream means to you?

  12. Jacob-

It must been a weird feeling to have woman’s hair in your mouth.

I think it could mean that you are realizing your present struggles in life, fighting your way up, not giving up. Just my thoughts….would like to see what other people think of David and Jacob’s dream.

  13. Howe- you don’t have to share your dreams b/c we know you dream about the same thing every night.

And CJ doesn’t need to stop eating whatever that he likes to eat LOL

  14. Howe and Jimmi- i don’t even know what to say:)

  15. I believe that dreams are unconscious like you said David, and they really do have a message for you. I grew up in a family where my mother would love to explain the dreams anytime anyone in my family had a shocking dreams. Well its to bad she is not here anymore, but lots of good memory!

  16. Dr. Who-

Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear about your mom!

  17. Thanks CJ!

  18. Hey people, damn i have freaky dreams, i have dreamt a few times that im screaming my head off n i cant talk and its so real which scared.. sometimes im sleeping and next thing il lep in bed for no reason.. i love the dreams though when im kissin a woman wat ever that means lol.. nice blog man :)

  19. Justin man, we’ve still gotta hang out for a beer sometime! E-mail and ill send you my new number dude ;)
Im going Notting Hill Carnival on Sunday-Monday so we’ll have plenty of practice if you get what I’m saying!!!

  20. Ah yes, the unconscious… never underestimate its power :) Back when I was thinking about whether or not to go back to school, I had a dream where I was known as Dr. Amy. Of course that wasn’t the only reason I decided to go back, but it certainly helped open my eyes to what possibilities were out there for me, and really made me think about where my life was going (and I am now working on a Ph.D., haha). You can call it the unconscious, automatic thinking, whatever; it does exist, and sometimes we need to listen to it!

I love trying to interpret dreams. I think it’s a way of the subconscious to work out unresolved issues. Not sure what that means for you Coach Jacob :)

  22. Good topic today David. All of of us have weird dreams, not all of them mean something though but they all have to do with our subconcsious. I learned that when you have a dream within a dream, it means you have too much on your mind, interesting! By the way, I miss the podcast today. Thanx David.

  23. Great post you have in here.
According to folks, if someone wants to reach you in your dreams they want to tell you something very important or it is one way of reminding you to communicate with them especially if you haven’t seen each other for a long time. I can so relate with this because when my father passed away, I dreamed of him and I was reaching out to him. Elders advised me to go to the cemetery and visit my dad and send for prayers.

  24. I think the subconscious is so interesting. I recently had a dream about cruising down a highway in car full of other people, but not sure who they were. Looked up a dream dictionary on net and it says:
“To dream that you are driving a car, denotes your ambition, your drive and your ability to navigate from one stage of your life to another. Consider how smooth or rough the car ride is. If you are driving the car, then you are taking an active role in the way your life is going.”

  25. Before the day of my exam results I dreamed about picking up the results and them being good. Then I woke up and realised this hadn’t happened yet. Likewise I needed a ticket to arrive on a certain day so I could sell it on in time so the night before I dreamed of it arriving.

For the most part I don’t remember my dreams, my insomnia tends to mean I don’t sleep well enough to remember them.

  26. well, dreams do have meanings. people most of the time don’t listen (just like men don’t listen when talking to women lol).

I’ll give yall an example of what I dream always. In my dreams, I always fly. Yeah, fly like a super hero. sometimes I’ll fly as high as deep space. I always have some special abilities included too. well, going back to flying, my grandpa told me that when a men dreams that he’s above the world or high up above anyone it means that one day that man would become someone great and he will be well respected. I believe that. ;D

    here are other interpretations:

when you dream that someone you love dies, that means that someone else is dead; not that particular person. it could be a family member, or someone you may know.

if you dream that you die, that means you’ll live longer.

if you dream about the return of Jesus Christ, then you’ll live longer. ;D
if you are dreaming that you are having problems or trouble, that means that soon you’ll see success in your life.

if you dream that you’re having sex with a bunch of girls……that I don’t know, but I’ve had that kind of dream, and no I didn’t wet my bed. Lol what do you think Mr. Wygant? have you dreamt about smacking and bombing chicks? ;D

  27. and if you start dreaming more often about someone who passed away and coming in your dream, then you’re in trouble. that’s the devil trying to trick you because the dead are dead. they don’t know anything. sometimes we dream of dead relatives because we have memories of them, but if it becomes something of like everyday then that’s bad. so be careful about dreams and familiar spirits! ;D

  28. dreams??? it depends. if i don’t have enough sleep… i know i will have a bad dream…

  29. I’ve had different dreams. Sometimes it was about flinging to a raging wave, being chased by my old school principal, a lot of my friends especially those I haven’t talked to, current emotions of people around me, things that I want to happen, dark alleys, old loves ones… I have eclectic type of dreams. My most recent dream was seeing an old friend of mine back in my life… and that friend came back! :D Dreams are weird.

  30. I had this dream maybe 3 years ago. A dream I will never ever forget. It was actually two dreams & though I do t know what they quite mean, they still speak to me & you’ll see why. The first dream lasted about 10 seconds. I was sleeping so good and Jesus Christ walked into my bedroom. I KID YOU NOT GUYS. The golden glair that followed him left me so flabbergasted I couldn’t say anything. Suddenly, I woke up with that on my head until my next dream. I was doing something unimportant probably when I just decided to look out the window. And who should be approaching my doorstep but Death! This was the next night I went to sleep after the Jesus dream btw. Death didn’t even open the door, he walked through it! I ran and tryed to unlock the window to escape but I was too nervous. I KID U NOT GUYS!!! Deaths finger was like 3 inches away from touching me & I woke up suddenly. For those two dreams to happen one after the other, it freaked me out so bad that all I really could do was cry b/c I thought something was going to happen to me. This blog brought me back to that dream & made me relized that we are privlieged to have life and so we must create ourself to become the perso. We truly want to be b/c you never know when Death will approach your doorstep. I just wanted to share that with you all.

  31. Once I awake and figure out my dream – all the symbols and why whatever happening is occurring, it just harks back to what I already know and have thought about all day. For this reason, it usually depresses me once I figure the dream out. I never understood why in the English language we use the word dream to designate our aspirations and goals for life. Most of the time, what happens during REM sleep bares no resemblance to what I wish for.

  32. I think it was Erik Erickson, the psychologist, who suggested that we are all the people in our dreams. In other words, the people in our dreams represent different parts of ourselves. So, if you are trying to connect with your father in your dream, one interpretation might be that you are trying to connect with the father within you, or some quality your father embodies to you.

  33. Wow, Quentin, what a powerful dream. I’m wondering, are you still alive? I certainly hope so! I guess you can take your dream very literally–that both death and this amazing “god” or “christ” energy is always within your/our grasp–as close, as you put it, as three inches away at any given moment! Or you can also interpret the dream with both Jesus Christ and Death representing different aspects of who you are. Maybe the Christ figure is your higher self, a part of you that is shedding light on something you are working on or struggling with. Death might represent something in you that is dead and no longer useful, or perhaps something you need to let go of so that you can make room for something new–a new Quentin, say. I’m no analyst, but this feels like a divine message from you to you! Something IS happening to you, and it’s all good. Nothing to be afraid of.

  34. Wow clay! It’s like you read part of my lifein that message I wrote. I really am struggling to let go of a lot of pain & it’s diffcult of let go. Even though it’s not my fault I feel real bad about myself because I held this pain for a long time & it’s now harder to shove it all off. Your responses Clay make me feel like people are going through the same thing or something similar & I can make it through. You gave me some hope to lean on. Thank you so much!

  35. Quentin, you made my day! I’m new to David Wygant’s work and just started poking around the site, reading the blogs and comments. All I can say is that we women are so lucky to have this amazing group of evolved men on the planet. So, thank YOU for wanting to raise your consciousness and understanding of women, and thanks to David, too.

  36. I am interested in this girl, and we’ve enjoyed hanging out several times (non-dates, and with other friends). I am still gauging her intentions, but a couple of days ago, I had a dream where we are bantering about something, and she keeps giving me a certain look. Suddenly she blurts out “O-KAY, I LIKE you already!”

If only that would happen for real! She does give me that same when we talk for real (hence the dream, probably). So it makes me wonder if my subconscious is trying to tell me something (or trick me, the bastard!)

For now, I’m taking it with a grain of salt and concentrating on creating good experiences whenever we hang out. But that dream almost derailed me! Thoughts?
