I still get glimpses of the magic when the seasons change, although I live in a part of the U.S. now where there are really 2 seasons: hot and not as hot. As a child, the magic was accentuated by actually having 4 seasons. There was something magic indeed about warm weather finally arriving and being able to wear shorts. I am reminded of that feeling around october and march when things cool off and warm up.

Siestas work for other countries :) I'm in.

Sounds like you had a great childhood! I wasn't fortunate enough to enjoy my summers. I lived on a farm, and my parents made me work the whole summer vacation, from the time I was about 8 years old. I actually dreaded the heat, and hard work, and wished school didn't have a break. But, I guess I have tried to make up for it, now that I am "grown up". I travel 6 or more times a year to warm, sunny, beaches, or new places I want to visit, and own my own business, so I can take off whenever I wish. Maybe not having such good summers actually did me good, because it motivated me to be successful, work hard to achieve my goal of being self reliant, and doing what I want, whenever I want. People that have it too good, may not realise how good they had it, and not work as hard for what they want out of life. I guess most peoples lives balance out, over time...one way or another.
