Because, the author said, men don't listen unless they really want to hang onto every word. Then I read the comments here and I thought, "Huh. So if my current crush is bringing up stuff from 4 weeks ago that I talked about ... seems sorta promising." So I tried a new experiment ... I decided not to initiate conversation or work to keep it going. And at every pregnant pause, this guy kept bringing up stuff I'd told him earlier. Am I onto something? Now if I can only get him to ask me out. I've met people who I didn't care to talk to initially and then I'm out somewhere and I run into them, and they are amazed that I remember things that we spoke about. The person could actually turn out to be really cool. I like to give people multiple tries before I write them off, as long as they were not a total ass the first time around. It is human nature to filter all the irrelevant information, that bambards us daily. It is only the people whom I really am not interested in getting to know, in the first place, that I go into "Me World", as I have no intention of ever having a relationship with them anyway.
