Today I am giving my fingers a rest.

Its a tough day for me, I had to drop Daphne my amazing Lab off to the vet to see if the tumor she has is cancer.

So today I am just a bit out of sorts in all ways.

And to top it all off when I got back to the office we had a mild earthquake.

Now i do not believe in God but someone up there was really mad about Daphne.
Today we have a video.
It is all about Facebook, crushes and 24 years later on how I should have never put myself in the friend zone.

this video really opened my eyes, i don't know how many times i stare and smile at a girl in high school and not do jack shit about anything. or chatting and bantering with the same girl for a semester, beating around the bush, and still not doing anything about it. this video is really a wake up call, because none of it really matters whether i rejected or not i get nothing, instead i have a chance to gain something and experience. And David i really hope the best for you and Daph, even though i said it many many times, but i really mean it.

Ya, we're all guilty of beating around the bush, avoiding, or staying in the friends zone with our crushes. this video is a great wake up call to actually do something about it. I know next time I have a real crush going or developing, im just going to be more direct with no excuses. Its a good habit to get into. And I wish the best for Daph too... that is truely a one of a kind dog.

Damn youi're right I'm going to meet some people from my past in a year or 17. Heck, the girl I had a crush on in early highschool later told me she'd had a crush on me as well. Thanks for all your wishes. She is out of surgery. She has two cists removed one from the top of her head which was small and the vet was not overly concerned. The other was the tumor from her belly near her leg. This is the scary one. It is a potential mast cell tumor. Google it......not a very pretty thing. Anyway she is ok now it is just a waiting game till we get the pathology report back on friday. So it is now a waiting game......and let the tension begin.

Kristen This has been a brutal last few weeks, I first found this out 2 weeks ago as you know when i was in santa fe. It has been a really up and down last few weeks, Plus the pathology report was so gray that we had no choice but to have the surgery. Poor girl she had quite a bit of her body cut out today........but being a lab she did have all that extra fat:) Friday can not come any sooner

David, I know how much she means to you - and I can't imagine how hard these weeks have been for you (anyone who has pets know that they ARE members of your family) ... but I'm glad that at least this period of not knowing will end on Friday -- waiting and uncertainty are awful. I truly hope that you will have reason to celebrate on Friday - and she is a strong dog who will recover well ... I'm betting she will be anxious to be well enough to get back to walk on the beach as soon as possible! :)

Poor Daphne... I hope all will be well with her soon :( That is one awesome canine! On the brighter side of things, I really liked today's video. I'm in college right now and have had a few of those crushes myself that just slipped through the cracks. That's got to stop! No school crushes at the moment, since I'm on break and all, but I'm going to remember that video every time a cute girls sits next to me in class from now on :) I can definetley promise everyone that much for sure! It's the powerful feeling behind your words, David that has moved me to passionately pursue my desires! I felt the most intense attraction for this gorgeous woman a few months ago in an arts & crafts store and I 'm almost positive she felt the same about me, but I rejected my intuition. This might be speculation, but I think when you feel that intense pull that it's actually mutual energy being created and you really just need to trust yourself and act immediately. By the way, I don't believe in some god-person standing on a cloud, but rather everything being part of the universe. I can attest by having some amazingly profound meditations.

I wish you had said something to me 30 years ago! When I was in HS, I had a crush on this girl in my chemistry class all through my Senior year. I couldn't approach her to do more than ask about the homework. Three years later, we found ourselves in the same Lab class at the community college. She had a boyfriend at the time but I had a little more confidence and so we became lab partners. Then, since this was the last class of the day, we decided to car pool together and became friends, still to this day. (Unfortunately, she married someone else.) Well one day, sitting on the lawn before class, we were talking and the subject of the HS Prom came up and that she didn't go because nobody had asked her. So I told her the truth, that I didn't go because i was afraid to ask her. Well I remember what she said like it was yesterday, I can still hear the tone of her voice. She said, "You jerk, you should have asked me, we both would have had a great time!" How's that for a kick in the ass?! Anyway, I never hesitate to ask out someone I have a crush on, but you know, it never works for me because, to have a crush on someone usually means it is not based on the reality of who that person is. It is an obsession and you really need to get to know someone BEFORE you fall for them.

The one thing I feel about crushes and persueing them is when it come to employees of a store you frequent, they might be acting polite since you are a customer. I feel its definitely good practice for the real thing and if you really dont care it can be fun here and there, but I would not drop too much effort into it if you only see them where they work. In fact, like Kheim said, you should have to drop much effort into any interaction. It should be comfortable, effortless and natural. Thats what I am going to try, I will see where it gets me. ~J~
