The Key to Success with Women and Life

Life is all about repetition. It’s about becoming great at something through repetition.

So it’s the middle of the week. I love the middle of the week because it gives us an opportunity to look at the first couple days and see what we can do better, then go and kick ass for the rest of the week.

There were some of the best play off games ever this past Sunday. What kind of chatter do you think is going through Billy Cundiff’s head?  You guys think you have issues. You look at a woman and you can’t walk up to her.  Imagine right now being Bill Cundiff of the Baltimore Ravens and hooking a 30 yard field goal and giving the Patriots the Super Bowl.  Imagine being Lee Evans and dropping a sure-fire touchdown pass, directly in your hands.  Dropping the ball to the ground because you weren’t focused in the end zone.  Imagine being him.

Don’t you think he’s got a lot of monkey chatter going on in his head?

Now I want to fast forward to your life. Life is about repetition and believing in yourself.  Here’s the deal guys: you’re not playing in front of 70,000 people.  There are not 70,000 fans whose heart you might be breaking when you drop a pass or hook a field goal.

Let’s put it in pick up terms: when you approach a woman and you hook your words and you don’t go anywhere with them.  The reason why you’re hooking your words, the reason why you’re dropping the easy ones, is because you’re not going out and doing the work every single day.  In order to become amazing at meeting women, you need to go out every single day.

It’s hump day fellas. Set an intent. Set a goal.  Write down: I’m going to approach 15 women per day for the next seven days.  I guarantee you that if you do that and you check back the following week, things are going to be a lot better for you.

Life is about repetition, and in order to become good at something, you’ve got to practice, practice, practice.  So get out there and practice.

. . .

PS. Don’t look at practice the way Allen Iverson does.

PSS. All jokes aside, do you go out there and play every ‘game’ like it’s your last? Food for thought…

  1. Look at where not caring about practice led Allen “The Answer” Iverson. Nowhere. No championships, and often called one of the most overrated players of the past 15 years. Look at where it led Kobe though, 5 rings, a regular season MVP, a few playoffs MVPs, and still almost as prolific a scorer as AI.

  2. I’m still bummed about the kick… anyone else on the team could’ve made that kick.

But it’s a great example of how monkey chatter can really mess you up. Even on the simple things that you’re supposed to be able to do without a problem.

If any of you are going to set a goal, let us know what it is and check back in with how it went.

  3. I’m not sure if I completely agree with you, Brian. AI should DEFINITELY have practiced more. But even then he’s still one of the best guards to ever play the game.

Practice, though. We’re talking about practice.

  4. When the hell is Dan going to quit being an intern, and become coach Dan?
I thought the horns were sounding, and the bells were ringing the first of the year?

  5. And what the hell happened to Bob???

  6. Look at Green Bay and the 49′ers…They basically said “Giants!…Have a trip to the Super Bowl on us! All they did was fumble!

  7. This method doesn’t even apply in sports but with everything. i dont know how many people on here listen to rap. but a rapper named lil wayne says the exact samething “repitition is the father of learning.” Famous people who really do have talent fallow this so why dont we i wonder? Now granted some are a naturals but others like will smith, Jack Nicholson, Robin Williams, Adam Sandler,Dave Chapelle etc..had too put time, dedication, into it and over time they got the reward of becoming great at what they do. :)

  8. It took me quite awhile to get over the 49er loss. I’ve been a life long fan and it’s hard to see them get so close but not advance. However, they beat everyone’s expectations didn’t they.

Repetition is where I struggle. I’m not consistent enough with this area of my life. I’m a competitive golfer and I’m always working on my swing. I work on it almost daily. It has taken a ton of work and dedication. If I could apply that to my dating life, I’m sure I would be doing much better

  9. Go Patriots!

  10. off the blog i would like to share something…there is this guy at work and he was out on medical leave and i did miss him being there…tonight we talked and i have known him going on six years and i said to him i am glad to c u back and i do not know what it is but talking to you washes my blues away…there is something about him that i like and we like to joke around a lot…but to date him well i have to think about that for i do not date those i work with…

  11. c’ing if my profile picture is up

  12. Well the No 1 sport in my area is soccer (the real football as you are actually using your feet :P )so it doesn’t make any sense to give an example here…instead i love music and Jimi Hendrix is considered one of the most talented guitarists that ever walked the earth.
And i think that talent with inclination to something can also be the key, but what not everyone knows is that Jimi used to practice more than 13 hours a day…

  13. @maximillion,,, umm,, you DO use your feet in American football. (otherwise, I don’t know what the hell that KICKER is doing out there.)
I DO enjoy a good soccer game though. Sometimes, I need a good nap.

  14. It is pretty retarded that we call American football “football”.

  15. Do I really need to go into an Association Football, American Football, Rugby Football, Aussie Rules Football lecture again? Seriously?

David, I love this — because it means a lot when a guy is proactive. I very much appreciate it! And I understand it is not easy. I once saw a guy in an Apple store that I just thought was cute, and I kept pacing outside, trying to see if I could go in and ask him to coffee, and I couldn’t!

I admire you guys. Thank you!! Whether it’s a nice hello or chatting during a sports game or a date, thank you for making the effort – I’ll smile and talk back because I appreciate you simply did. Life is just about being kind, sharing, and enjoying it, having fun!

    Thank you, Pamela

PS 49ers. Ahhh… as a California girl I am wedded to them. Commentor is totally right: We gave it away. However, on the positive: Have you **ever** seen a defense play so well? AWESome. Spotlight on them.

  17. @collin,,, yes. yes you do.

  18. Well then. Football is a term for a large number of traditionally peasant games that loosely involved using a ball to score a goal, usually by using your feet in some way. The rules vary greatly by region, some being actual sports where you’re allowed to hit opposing players, and some being sports for sissies where players are penalized for looking at each other the wrong way and rewarded for exaggerating injuries. The most popular version worldwide is Association Football, commonly known as soccer, however there is also American Football, Australian Football, Gaelic Football, Rugby Football (both Union and League), and even Canadian Football. Referring to Association Football as the only legitimate form of football only shows off an incredibly narrow world view.

An easy way to spot an ignoramus is to listen for them to condescendingly refer to American Football as “Hand Egg.” They should be immediately punched at the face until they realize that they are not actually too smart for their own good.

  19. i can’t wait to watch the National Hand Egg League championship game in Indy!
    :)

  20. holy crap. A hot girl is in here talking football! (sorry,,I meant Hand Egg!)

(ok, I tried to think of something comical to put here, but everything I thought of was too x-rated for this blog,,, so I’m just gonna let this one go.)

  21. I love this post! It reminds me of a sport that I used to play quite a lot and that was table tennis. I was amazed on how people didn’t know how to warm up. They practiced by trying to make the other person miss, and then play a regular game doing the same thing, it was funny. I too, at one point did the same thing until someone showed me how to practice to become better at the game. It was about hitting the ball in one particular area, over and over.

Technique also played a role on how a person advances in the game. My first year in college a guy beat me, 13 times in a row, before I could barely beat him once. It was like ten games for every one that I could win. After 6 months later using repetition and good technique that I learned, I was no longer that same player, he was absolutely stunned…I beat him quite a few times in fact he never could beat me again and his game remained the same due to the way he was practicing.

The lesson here is, once you have knowledge of good technigue (like being yourself), you have to practice to advance. The more you do, the more fun you will have in your journey.

  22. Iverson shouldn’t have blurted out that sound bite….now everyone just thinks of him like that. In truth, he was a fierce competitor in games and would sacrifice his body and charge in to get hammered. One of the few players, I’d actually pay to watch.

As for Cundiff, I would trade with him anytime… He’s a multi-millionaire playing a kids game and has opportunities that most would only dream of. As this relates to women, though, I wonder about the attraction issue. If the girl’s into you, she will more likely give you leeway and find your failings “cute” versus someone she’s not attracted to at all.

The coach should have called a time out and give him time. It’s not so much chatter as changing up his mechanics. Since they rushed the kick, he didn’t do his usual routine and hooked the ball.

  23. Hey John, i guess i was hasty using statements like that, of course you guys have your own games that you love and have a lot of history and endless stories…not to mention the tradition of the game and you got to respect that.
Last summer a cousin of mine came to Europe to visit me (hes born and living in US), and he downloaded a football game to show and explain me the game (we were arguing all day about which one is better)…
So here we were watching it together and at one point he applauded a very long throw …the ball was flying for so long that you could read a book :) ..and the catch was also impressive as the forward had to jump to make it…
And i told him..yep i loved that one but now imagine how would be like making that long accurate pass and stopping it using only your feet :D ?

And I’ve tried out of curiosity to watch a game in Major Soccer League and it was like watching a basketball game played in Thailand league…so if your ever curious about football , try to find a Uefa Champions League game to see a more realistic side of soccer. I did watched two Superballs finals in the past…it was nice.

I respect all games, but we are guys who love the sport and we have our games…and i didn’t meant any disrespect.

  24. @Maximillian, imagine having to get a long ball like that with the threat of actual physical harm from being laid out by a linebacker who closely resembles a human-gorilla hybrid? Making that catch is a much more serious proposition when you have to worry about more than getting your feet poked at by some skinny little defender.
