All relationships have this potential which is why most relationships break up, even the majority of marriages.

It comes down to expectations. Do you expect to be in love forever? It is not possible. You can choose to do things to fall in love again. You can choose to love your partner every day. It is possible to restore broken relationships when both people want to.

Sometime in the last year I saw a fantastic ABC documentary called Secrets to Love. It seemed like a typical almost sickeningly 'in love' series of couples then they went through affairs, depression, separation and all the hurtful yukky stuff but no!!! The absolute true love was the after, when they had chosen to love each other after the yukky stuff. The doco is no longer online however there is a summary if you google it.

I also went to a conference in Bali last year on restoring broken relationships that was another break through ... to learn more strategies if both parties are willing and that it is possible.

Hey David,

you just broke one Comment Rule!!!

Anyways, I've been following your blog, and really enjoy the topics you bring to discuss, always make me view the topics from a different point of view.

For this topic I know it's really true, you can feel the "Breaking Point" even with friends, when something happens between both and afterwards there are always these awkward moments. Until one of the two decide that it is stupid, and begin to forget, things improve, but they can't really be as they used to be....

Have an Awesome day,
José E. Colín.
