I personally find myself always looking for an event in my city. When there is an event, go to it… but go early… and start walking the neighborhoods. You’ll always find something fund and interesting that you can try next time you are there.

It also gives you a leg up in dating because if you are in that area on a date, you’ll know where to take girls spontaneously.

In LA, I know a place or two in all major areas of the city…. so no matter where I take a girl on a date, I can cruise to those “fav” spots that she probably has never experienced herself.

I loved this post David! I lived in Europe for quite some time and I took advantage in major way.

I remember taking the “scenic route” on my scooter to sit under the stars overlooking the Roman Forum ruins, at 1 am mind you. The view is absolutely breathtaking as the ruins are lit from the ground up most nights! A romantic must-do for anyone who is exploring Rome with their significant other.

What I found amazing was the number of people who lived there for YEARS and never set foot inside the Colosseum! They need to read your post

Solid post, David. I thin many people definitely take what they have for granted, in general and it doesn’t necessarily have to be in their backyards.

As a kid growing up in Detroit,MI I frequently went to the Detroit Zoo which is located in Royal Oak, MI. Now I’ve lived in Ferndale for over 5 years where i can see the Detroit Zoo from my house and throw a rock at the water tower from my work and I have yet to go. I REALLY missed out of going this summer. Great date idea!

Things I should take advantage of:

rec center (with tennis courts)
the park
libraries
small local diverse art events and classes
bookstores
cafes and restaurents that I never think of going inside because only
white/caucasian people eat there
downtown
farmer’s market

Check out yesterday’s blog for a preview. Great topic David. It reminds me of the ‘become a tourist in your town’ blog. There are tons of amazing places down here in Miami. My excuse was usually ‘but we need money to go there’, until I realized lots of great places are cheap thrills. Thx.

This is really great. I used to live in a huge tourist town on Lake Michigan but I never went out. “What you’re looking for has been here the whole time”.

I have an idea for a future blog post. There are tons of in-field “hidden camera” street approaches on the web, but they are mainly done by “PUAs” with “routines” and AMOGAFCIOI lingo shit. I would love to see you using your natural technique.
