It's no longer okay just to show up. It's no longer okay just to say that you did it.

It’s no longer okay just to show up. It’s no longer okay just to say that you did it.
There’s a time when you have to show up, do it and believe you can in order to really win.

Forty-two years ago the New York Jets won the Super Bowl. I was just a little kid then. I barely remember it. All I remember about it was my Dad watching it and Joe Namath celebrating — and that’s about it.

The thing about being seven years old is that we all have what I call “Young Alzheimer’s.” We tend to forget what happened even the day before, and it’s hard to bring back those memories unless you see pictures or videos of yourself.

It’s time for the New York Jets to take it to the next level. Forty-two years since the last Super Bowl victory. That’s a long time.

Last year they made it to the Championship Game, and they were happy just to be there. They were 9-7, and they only made it to that game due to catching a couple of lucky breaks at the end of the season.

This year, however, they dominated. They were 9-2, then they struggled in a few games, and ended up finishing 11-5.

This year, they made it to the playoffs and they beat Peyton Manning. As Rex Ryan said, ‘This time it was personal.’ They beat the Colts and it felt great.

The Jets could have quit there. They could have said, “At least this year we beat Peyton Manning.” They didn’t have that attitude. Instead they were thinking, “Up next is the juggernaut called the Patriots.” Up next they were facing the 14-2 Patriots who embarrassed them earlier in the season in a 45-3 blowout and then taunted them to try and make them feel worthless.

What happened when they played the Patriots in the playoffs? The Jets dominated them. They could have quit there and thought, “Well we dominated the Colts and the Patriots. We don’t need to beat the Steelers.” But they do . . . and so do you.

I think there comes a time when “just good enough” is not enough. There comes a time when you really need to put the other team away. There comes a time when you must take it to the next level.

you can’t be satisfied anymore with just being “good enough” or just being “okay.” There comes a time when you’ve got to deliver, and you have to believe and take your game to the next level in order to do it.

Mark Sanchez and the Jets need to do that. As Bart Scott said at the end of his interview, he can’t wait to get to Pittsburgh. I can’t wait to see the Jets beat the Steelers. I can’t wait to see them go to the next level.

It’s just a game. It’s just football. It means nothing in the long run. I’m not playing or coaching — I’m just a fan. In the long run, however, what is important is how you take YOUR game to the next level.

Are you tired of just going out and saying hello? Don’t you want to ask somebody out? Do you want to get the number? Do you want to date the person you most want to date?

Aren’t you just sick and tired of just being ‘in the game’ and being “just okay?” Don’t you want to dominate the game, own the game and become the powerful person you always wanted to become?

I don’t care if you’re a man or woman. It’s time to stop just showing up, and to stop congratulating yourself for just showing up. It’s time for all of you to dominate in the field of dating.

As of right now I would make you all underdogs in the dating game — not by much, maybe a touchdown. I truly believe, though, that each and every one of you can start dominating in the field of dating.

Get on that playing field every single day. If you’re a man, go out and talk to women every single day. If you’re a woman, go out there and flirt and make yourself available every single day.

Stop just showing up, and start to dominate the field of play. The only way you are going to do that is to believe in yourself.

In the NFL you have a team behind you. You have the coach (even though the coach might have a foot fetish — sorry I had to throw that in there), and you have another player who has your back all the time. That is part of what makes NFL football such a great sport.

In the dating game, I have your back. The blog and other members of this community have your back ready to help you.

It’s time to stop feeling like you’re alone, and and the blog, other people have your back, helping you, commenting. It’s time to stop feeling like you’re alone and to start connecting with the team that’s all around you.

Connect with that team. Connect with me. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

For those of you who have thought about getting some coaching or about coming to a Bootcamp, it’s time you came and joined the team so that you have some people to support you. You don’t need to do this alone. You can do this with the help of others.

So, I want to say “Go Jets!” this weekend. I predict that the Jets are going to win that game 23-14. I actually think they are going to not just win, but dominate, in that game because they believe in themselves.

You guys always ask me if the direct approach works.

Check out Joe Namath using the direct approach with women.

I seem to hear the same things over and over again from guys. One of those things is, "David, I'm so in my head."

I seem to hear the same things over and over again from guys. One of those things is, “David, I’m so in my head.”

Now you need to picture what “in your head” sounds like, because technically you’re not really walking around inside of your own head. If you were, you’d just be this gigantic round thing rolling around on the ground like a bowling ball at all times. If you were really in your head, you would just be a rolly poly head — nothing more, nothing less.

So the term “in your head” is really just your way of saying, “I want to go do this, but I’m worried about x, y and z.” If you think about it, though, the principles of meeting people are very simple.

You observe what they’re doing. You react to what they’re doing so you can really connect to their world (and so you don’t bring them into a whole new world when you’re experiencing something else). Then you speak with authority, playfulness and confidence. It’s really very, very simple.

What makes it so difficult is the fear that’s associated with it. You decide at that present moment whether to do it or not. If you don’t do it, what happens is you go into what people call “getting into my head” (which means that you’re finding an excuse not to do it at that moment).

Technically it’s the same principles over and over again — it really is. I’ve been teaching this a long time, and it’s the same principle over and over again. I taught myself those same principles over and over again until I got it right.

So when you’re in your head, what that really means is that you just don’t want to try at that moment. You’re too afraid to give it a whirl, because you’re too caught up with seeking approval.

You really and truly believe that if this doesn’t work out, things are going to be really bad for you that day (or whatever it might be based on stuff in the past). Past programming could be from the way your parents taught you, the way kids teased you in high school, whatever it was.

You need to remember that it’s all in the past. If I were living in the past and I saw a woman, I might throw my rattle at her and drool. It all depends on how far back in the past I really want to go. I might just give her some Wacky Packs like I did in the fifth grade, or I might offer her a couple pieces of Bazooka gum. It depends on how far in the past I want to go. If I want to go back to the high school days, I might ask her to borrow a pen even though she’s in the middle of Starbucks drinking coffee.

All kidding aside, going back into the past is another way for you not to try. It’s just an excuse. You think, “Well, this failed me 23½ years ago, so I’m not going to do it now. I don’t want to do it now because if it fails, then I’m going to be a total failure because I’m giving all my power away to this person I don’t even know.”

There is no such thing as failure in life. There really isn’t.

If a professional football player plays in a game and the team loses, did he fail? No, he tried his hardest and they didn’t win, but there will be another day.

An investment banker makes the wrong investment. Did he fail? No, he just made the wrong choice and it didn’t work out. A stock trader trades a stock and it goes the wrong direction. Is he a failure? No, it just didn’t go the way he thought it was going to go.

In life, if everybody quit as often in other areas of their life as they do about approaching women, they’d be broke and homeless and living on the side of the road. They would be holding up a sign saying, “I’m a quitter. i can’t afford to pay my bills. Can you please give me some money?”

So getting into your head is just your safety zone. It’s you basically saying to yourself, “I’m much more comfortable not trying than trying.”

Oh and one last thing.

Ravens 17 Steelers 16

Close great game but Ed Reed picks off Big Ben to end the game.

Packers 27 Falcons 20

Just a hunch that Aaron Rodgers is heading to the Super Bowl.

You knew I was going to come up with some type of Super Bowl blog. I always do!

This one is going to be a little different, though, because in this blog I’m going to really “tell it like it is,” so fasten your seatbelts. This blog is all about determination.

So many of you still email me with your lame excuses for why you aren’t where you want to be in your life. Yes, I know, using the term “lame” is a little harsh sounding, but to tell you the truth I’m really tired of hearing them.

Everybody has excuses in life. We all do. Every one of us. Here’s what I say about your excuses: Get over it!

I hate taking such a harsh tone here, but so many of you email me wanting a solution to your issues yet you have never purchased any of my products. Never . . . not one. You tell me you read my blog every single day and love what I teach, but you have taken no steps to work on your issues by investing in yourself.

You want me to spend my time answering your questions for free, but balk at the suggestion that you should buy one of my products to be able to really help you and attack the issues that are holding you back from having the dating life you so badly desire to have.

Getting the answer to one question is not going to help you solve all of your problems. It really won’t.

So how does this fit into the Super Bowl? This actually fits immensely into this year’s Super Bowl.

Kurt Warner did not walk into the Ram’s camp eleven years ago saying “Make me the quarterback!” He had determination. He had an incredible work ethic. He didn’t hide behind his excuses.

After not being drafted in 1994, he bagged groceries at a grocery story until he was signed into the Arena Football League in 1995. He was determined to make it in the NFL.

Kurt Warner became one of the most successful quarterbacks in Arena Football League history, and did make it to the NFL when he was signed by the St. Louis Rams prior to the 1998 season. When Trent Green blew out his knee during the 1998 training camp, Dick Vermeil had no choice. It was the last game of the pre-season, and all he had was a kid named Kurt Warner standing there.

So Kurt Warner got the job. Even though Kurt Warner played in only one game in 1998 and attempted only eleven passes, he went on in 1999 to put together one of the most successful seasons for a quarterback in NFL history, including getting a Super Bowl Championship and becoming the Super Bowl MVP.

Determination. Kurt Warner had true determination. He worked hard every single day. He paid his dues.

So many of you don’t want to pay your dues. So many of you are looking for that “magic pill” that’s going to help you solve all of your problems or which will instantly change your life. You want advice and help, but you only want it if it’s free . . . and if it’s a “quick-fix.”

I spent the last couple of weeks reading through my old journals. What those journals showed was how determined I was, even during rough times, to succeed in life. The only way you’re going to succeed in life is to be determined.

During this year’s Super Bowl, Kurt Warner threw an interception right before half time that resulted in James Harrison rambling down the field and making a touchdown for the other team. Larry Fitzgerald made the biggest mistake by failing to strip the ball from or to tackle James Harrison as he should have.

Kurt Warner did not let this setback affect him, because he has determination. He took the Cardinals down the field for two more scores and put them in a position to win.

Of course, Ben Roethlisberger was equally determined. Santonio Holmes was equally determined. Santonio Holmes could have dropped that pass. He probably worked on catching a pass like that a thousand times in practice. Day after day, he was probably thrown balls that were too high so he could learn how to jump up and land dragging down both toes.

So many of you lack this kind of determination. So many of you will not even invest in yourself. Let’s forget for a minute about buying anything. So many of you will not even go out and do the things I talk about in the blogs. You won’t even go out there and talk to three people every day, because you think doing that is an “exercise” that’s not worth your time.

You continue to write me, though, saying that you want that phone number or to be good with the opposite sex. You want the end result – you want to win the Super Bowl – but you want to get there without putting the time and doing the practice every day that it takes to get there.

You have got to put in the time if you want to be successful. You must be determined.

I’m done. I’m done for today. On my Community Site, there is a 20 minute podcast for you members that is guaranteed to inspire you to go out there and do whatever you have to do to meet people. For the rest of you, take this message and really think about it, because I’m also determined . . . to help you! The question is: How determined are you to help yourself?

What a game yesterday. My thoughts on the game and how it impacts your life will be posted tomorrow.

I had an interesting talk with a client this morning and thought i would write it up for you guys.

David:	Stop thinking about the future! The future is not right now.

We hear this all the time, but let me tell all of you this right now: if I could predict the future, you would not be sitting here with me right now. If I could predict the future, do you think I’d be spending this time coaching you guys?

I’d probably take my girlfriend and my dog with me and we’d go surfing on my own private little island. I heard Marlon Brando’s island is going to be up for sale eventually – maybe I’d buy that.

If I could predict the future, I would predict the winning numbers in the lottery. I would tell you the Steelers would win the Super Bowl and I would have put all of my money on it. I would tell you which stocks would rise during Obama’s presidency. If I could predict the future, there are so many different things I would do. But I can’t!

The only thing in life that we have the power to do is to remain present. That is it. We have no other powers.

So if there is a woman that you really want to get to know and you’re thinking about how to somehow swing her in your direction, you’re not really being present. You’re just thinking about how to get her to come to you, instead of really just having a great time. If you’re having a really great time and she starts to see you that way, you’re going to create attraction.

If you’re really enjoying the company of her friends, she’ll start to see you in that way. That’s how women look at things. But instead, you’re just thinking about the future. You’re not even thinking about that day. You could all be just hanging out at a bar on a Saturday night, but you’re not really there. You’re only thinking about how you can manipulate the situation and change the future.

The fact is that the future is not now – the present is now. Stay focused and stay present to what is going on in the moment. It takes a lot of work to truly stay focused in the present.

Client:	Is there something that you can do to really work on that? I feel like I can’t really control it on my own.

David:	You’re doing it right now – you’re listening to me. You’re listening intently to every word that comes out of my mouth. For the last few minutes, you listened to every word I said, and then you asked a question based on what you heard. And you did it with authority and conviction in your voice. You weren’t nervous, and you did it from your heart. I could see that it came from your heart, and I could see who you are as a person.

So that’s how you do it. You just listen. If you’re outcome-derived, or you expect something from somebody, then it’s not going to happen. You’re just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Don’t expect anything from anybody. If you do, you’ll set yourself up to be disappointed. Why should you be disappointed? Life is an amazing ride. Enjoy it. Enjoy the entire process.

On Super Bowl Sunday, a day full of male bonding and macho actions.

I thought we could tackle a sensitive topic, one that would cause no end zone celebrations or high fives.

A topic that no one sitting in front of the TV watching the Steelers shave the Cards by 10 would ever mention.

So when you dip your chips today keep in mind about a dip that may not happen later.

Have you ever had whiskey dick – without alcohol?

You start fooling around with a woman, you get naked, and then you just can’t get hard at all?

You can’t figure out why either. You think to yourself, what is it? Am I impotent? Do I need Viagra? Do I need Cialis – so it’s ready when I’m ready? What is wrong with me?

You know what? It happens to all of us.

Sometimes when you get alcohol-free whisky dick it’s because you don’t actually have any emotional connection with her.

A lot of women think that men are just pump and dumpers. They think that men are just into getting laid, but a lot of us are really quite sensitive!

And many of us can’t have sex just for the sake of having sex. We have to have a connection with the other person.

I’ve had nights with alcohol-free whisky dick. If my dick isn’t working, it’s basically telling me, hey man, we really don’t like this woman that much. We like her, we think she’s cool, but we’re really not all that connected with her.

So if you have alcohol-free whisky dick, it’s not necessarily that something is wrong with your dick, but it does mean that you’re probably more emotionally evolved than you thought you were!
