I am up in Vancouver, and it’s amazing up here. There is so much energy everywhere.

I have never been to the Olympics, but a client of mine thought it would be a great weekend to do some one-on-one coaching. He has been right. It’s been great so far. There are people everywhere!

So, now, what are all of you going to do on this mid-winter Saturday?

How about checking out today’s video to get some ideas about meeting people at one place I always think is great to meet people.

We went out to dinner last night, and the service was just typical L.A., i.e., you felt like the server was stoned.

We went out to dinner last night, and the service was just typical L.A., i.e., you felt like the server was stoned. We actually sat in the bar area and the bartender was our server.

We saw our food sitting in the window for almost fifteen minutes. The bartender forgot to pick it up. We saw the plates sitting there under the hot lights. I almost went to get them myself.

The bartender knew she had screwed up, but when she brought the food over all she said to us was “hot plates!” Of course they were hot. They had been sitting under a hot light for fifteen minutes.

Then she couldn’t figure out how to get our bill to print from the computer. By the time she did figure it out, we were late for the horrible movie we ended up seeing.

By the way, don’t go see “The Informant!” It was really bad (and really dumb).

So when I finally get the bill for dinner, I’m looking at it and thinking about how I have to leave a tip for this woman. I’m thinking, “Doesn’t a tip mean that you enjoyed the service?”

I bartended for seven years, and if I ever didn’t get a tip I always assumed it was because I gave poor service or because someone was cheap. Nowadays, tips are viewed as handouts. Everyone wants a tip. In fact, let’s talk about that . . .

Could I get tipped please? Excuse me, I have some advice for you. Can you leave me a tip?

When did we become a tip society? Have you noticed that everywhere you go — whether it’s Starbucks or a local takeout restaurant — that there’s a little line on the credit card slip for you to insert a tip or a jar on the counter asking you to leave a tip?

We’re expected to tip people even when we’re getting takeout. I remember sending someone I used to date with my credit card to pick up some food for us. When she gave me the receipt, I noticed she left a $7.00 tip . . . for takeout! I almost went through the roof.

Why am I tipping the person for takeout? What is up with everyone expecting to be tipped?

On an average Sunday, you’re forced to top people all day long. If you go to brunch (which is a ‘self-serve’ meal), you have got to tip the waiter.

Wait a minute. I’m paying for food that costs me four times what I would have paid to buy it myself. Don’t restaurants pay people?

I have to pay my employees. Why can’t I pay my employees cheap wages and have them just make up the difference in tips?

You’re expected to tip everybody nowadays. You get a massage, you’ve got to leave a tip. You get a haircut, you have to tip. At a hotel you have to tip the concierge, the bellboy, the busboy, the waiter and the maid.

You have to tip everyone. Tipping the hotel maid? I know they don’t make good wages, but isn’t that the choice they made?

Why are we tipping everyone in the world? Why is everyone in the world entitled to a tip?

Why do we have to tip 20% in a restaurant. Why do we give a 20% tip everywhere we go. If we spent $100.00 on a Saturday, you’re really spending $120.00 because of all the people you’ve tipped throughout the day.

There are tip cups everywhere you go. You go to a local bagel shop, and the person there who decided to work for minimum wage cutting a bagel expects a tip. You get a cup of coffee and there is a tip cup. You get a scoop of ice cream, and there is a tip cup at the register.

People also try to give you guilt if you don’t contribute to their tip cups. The other day I picked up some takeout food, and as I signed the credit card slip without leaving a tip the woman gave me a dirty look as she put the food in the bag. She expected me to give her a tip (instead of hoping that I would leave her one).

I worked many jobs like this when I was younger, and I never expected to get a tip from every customer (or, really, from any customers). If I got a tip, I was happy. Of course, I expected to get tipped when I was bartending, but not when I was working behind a counter.

So, here’s a tip. If you don’t like what you’re getting paid at your job, go get a new one. Why is everyone at every job entitled to a tip?

The other day I was on the phone with a reporter from Health magazine, and I told her about how I don't take calls before 11:00 a.m. She asked me, "Does it take the caffeine that long to kick in?"

The other day I was on the phone with a reporter from Health magazine, and I told her about how I don’t take calls before 11:00 a.m. She asked me, “Does it take the caffeine that long to kick in?”

I said, “Caffeine? No, I don’t drink coffee. I just don’t want to talk to anyone before 11:00 a.m.” She started laughing.

Then she asked my why I don’t drink coffee. Her question made me think about why I don’t drink it. Here are my main reasons:

1.	Maybe I don’t want to pour acid on my stomach first thin in the morning.

2.	Maybe I don’t want to drink something so bitter first thing in the morning when I wake up.

3.	The times I did drink coffee during some trips to Europe, I ended up buying things I never wore.

4.	That caffeine buzz really isn’t needed for someone like me who is already so energetic.

5.	I like to ease into my day. I like to lay in bed an extra hour. I like to take Daphne to the beach for a walk feeling all foggy. I enjoy slowly starting the day. What’s the rush? Why do I need to get my heart palpitating the minute I wake up after relaxing all night long. Plus, why would I want to feel jittery after just having a good night’s sleep?

My favorite people are the “puff and coffee” people. They wake up and have a cigarette and some coffee. They already have bad breath. Nothing could smell worse than coffee breath and cigarette breath mixed with morning breath. Why bother brushing your teeth?

So besides generally not needing coffee, not wanting to feel jittery and not wanting to have coffee breath, the real reason I don’t drink coffee is because I like my slow easy morning. Even on the days when I have to wake up early, I enjoy waking up.

The idea of living another day is enough for me. I really don’t need to stimulate myself to feel excited about life. And what does this have to do with meeting hot women while on caffeine. Nothing at all I just thought we would have a very light day today but the video below will show you all you need to know for the upcoming weekend!

Though after watching this video you would think i was high on caffeine!!

We are hitting new records, its seems that we can not kill the friend to boyfriend post. 372 comments and still going strong.

So now lets turn the tide and talk about the opposite sex.

If you have not seen this record blog click here.

So what do you do if she has a boyfriend?

You walk over to her and you’ve been talking and you think you’re doing great. You say, “hey, I’d love to get together with you; let’s grab a cup of coffee,” and she says, “well, I have a boyfriend.”

At this point, most guys tuck their tails between their legs and run away. This makes you the asshole that ran away as soon as someone mentioned the word “boyfriend.”

Here is what you should do instead: say something like, “oh man, what a lucky guy.” This plants a seed in her head, where she thinks, what a lucky guy? He’d better think he’s lucky to have me!

Then she goes home that afternoon and gets into a fight with her boyfriend and she’ll be able to say, “do you realize how lucky you are going out with me?” You’ve planted that seed.

Another one of my favorite responses to the “I have a boyfriend” is this: “oh man, I hope he treats you well,” or “I hope he appreciates you.” This also gets her thinking, oh man, this guy doesn’t really appreciate me! I’ve been fighting with him for the last few weeks!

This opens up a potential conversation down the road. Two minutes later she will be telling you about the boyfriend that doesn’t appreciate her.

You have to say all of these things from your heart, or they will sound fake.

Another thing you can say is, “just my luck, this is ridiculous. I was so ready to start dating again. I just processed my last relationship and I’ve spent a lot of time working on myself. I have to tell you, I’m super picky, and the last few women that I’ve hit it off with…” – which tells her that you’ve hit it off with her and that you’re very instinctual – “have all seemed to have had boyfriends! Do you have a twin or anything? A friend just like you?”

I’ve been set up like that with a friend that was pretty damn hot. You’re also networking for a date, which a lot of guys try to avoid. You want to network for the date because this will allow you to go out and meet some more interesting people.

And remember the 50% rule: 50% of the people that you meet today that are in a relationship will be single in a year.

Do you want to be the guy that complimented her with confidence and dignity? And then when you run into her again someday and ask, “so how’s that boyfriend treating you?” guess who is going to get the phone call? You. She will remember that good spirit and great energy every single time.

So the next time she says that she has a boyfriend, you have to think about what your answer is going to be instead of running away from her like the bratty kid who didn’t get his toy.

It’s about the dividend. It’s like investing in real estate. Wouldn’t it be great if we could all buy real estate today and sell it tomorrow for a profit? Right. There is nothing in life that you do today that is going to pay you a dividend tomorrow.

Anything that you invest in now is going to have its great payoff in the future. This is just one of the future benefits.

And I am enjoying the future benefits now. My girlfriend when we met had a boyfriend and now she is with me. We were friends, she broke up and we reconnected a year later.

Thats why you just kick back and be yourself with no expectations.

Todays video is all about Live Street Approaches.

Let’s say the new boyfriend is meeting the group of friends for the first time. Everyone has been introduced politely, and then all of a sudden one of the friends will ask, “so how did you guys meet? Tell us the story!”

They have probably heard the story a thousand times – but they want to keep hearing it, because they want it to happen to them. They want this romance to happen to them. Women are all about this great romance.

So the woman starts this long story: “oh, I was in Borough Market waiting in line at Monmouth Coffee Company like I do every single Saturday. All of a sudden this cute guy and I ordered a latte at the very same time. I looked at him and he said to me, ‘jinx!’ I laughed, and then we both got our coffees and…”

It’s a story that they tell a million times. “Oh my god, I was in the market buying my usual tea, and I dropped the box. This guy picked it up for me and told me I was a klutz, and he hasn’t stopped calling me that since!”

It’s about the story. They want to have that story to tell their friends all the time.

So when you meet them out and about, be ready to tell that story. You will be a legend. If you meet her in line at Monmouth Coffee Company, she will text her friends all day long: “you won’t believe what happened to me at the market today! I met this guy…” and the story begins.

For women, a romance starts from the second that you meet. I went out with someone the other night and she can remember exactly where we met. She remembers where we met, what day it was, what was going on around town that day, everything. Women remember details like that.

We don’t remember shit: “I don’t know, we just kind of met.” But you have to remember that you are creating this romantic moment for her right from the start.

Its all about creating an emotion when you first meet a woman. The way you walk, the way you talk and the first words that come out of your mouth is what she always remember.
But the key here is not what you say its how you say it!!
