I’ve been spending months upon months frustrated in bed. I’ve been unable to sleep half the night. My body and my head won’t stop racing and feeling anxious. I keep looking over at her wondering when this problem is going to stop.

Are you in a relationship that has become routine? Every night, you both come home from work, you make dinner, you sit there and watch television, you go upstairs, and you go to sleep. You’re both just going through the motions.

They start calling you, sending you text messages and leaving you voicemail messages. They want you to give your relationship with them another try.

Sometimes life is like a soap opera, but the story I’m about to tell you is something that even my writer friends here in Los Angeles could not have made up. You are truly not going to believe what I’m about to share with you. This story is so outrageous that it is just about the only relief I’ve had in the last week.

For any of you who don’t know, Daphne (my beloved English Labrador) had two tumors removed last Tuesday. I sweated the pathology report all week long. At around 5:00 pm on Friday, the vet finally called me back.
