Is it just me, or do you think the Saints and the Colts have suffered from a severe case of approach anxiety? I mean, can you imagine waiting two weeks for the big game?

A lot of you guys see a woman, you can’t approach her and five minutes later she is gone. All the while that five minutes feels like two weeks to you.

Can you imagine the amount of anxiety that builds up over an actual two week period? Can you imagine during a period of two weeks how many scenarios you go through in your mind, how much game films you watch and how much over-analyzing you do?

A friend of mine played in the Super Bowl one year, and he said he didn’t even realize that he was actually there until the second quarter. The surreal feeling of being there was that overwhelming.

It’s kind of like getting all jazzed for that big New Year’s Eve party, only to get there and not be able to participate in the way you wanted. You knew I would turn this blog into one about mindset somehow, right?

So which team is going to win today? The team that will win today is the one that does not get into their head.

It’s the team that stays focused after a turnover. It’s the team that doesn’t second guess a play. It’s the team that doesn’t come in with a conservative game plan just because it’s the Super Bowl. Everything is magnified today — every missed field goal, every sack, and every interception.

It’s like someone telling you that you have four hours to get laid, but you’ve never even had a one-night stand before. As the clock ticks and you’re in the second half of your four hour deadline not even having approached a woman yet, each minute becomes more critical and each conversation becomes more pressure-filled.

The winner of the game will feel no pressure. Wait, I take that back. That team will feel the pressure, but they won’t let it bother them.

Football is all mental. Someone is going to get into the head of another player. Someone is going to blitz Brees and put some doubt into his mind. I’ve seen people try to do it to Peyton Manning, but it never works.

Someone is going to fumble as their team is driving towards a score. Someone is going to drop an easy pass over the middle that would have given them a badly-needed first down. The team that wins, though, is the one who forgets the interception, the missed tackle and the punt.

Do you see a theme here?

How many of you forget about a missed opportunity? How many of you get blown off by a woman you approach and are able to get over it immediately?

The team that wins today will be the one that has a short memory. Notice, too, that I say team.

Manning may get two interceptions today. Wayne may get hit and knocked to the ground. What they both will do if those things happen is forget about them and make adjustments in the next play.

I want all of you to watch the game and realize that it is not really a game just of skill. It is, in large part, a game all about mindset.

So how is the game going to end today? What will be happening when the clock runs out at the end of the fourth quarter?

It is going to end with one quarterback going to Disney World, and the other quarterback going through hell. One quarterback is going to get an ugly, oversized Cadillac, while the other one will have to be interviewed by ESPN with his hair soaking wet and that dejected look on his face.

Which team is going to win? Is it going to be Manning or Brees? Here is who is not going to win: Brett Favre or Mark Sanchez.

The Saints can win if they play a perfect game. Sean Payton has to call the perfect game, something he hasn’t done on numerous occasions this year. He tends to get frozen and conservative at times.

As for Jim Caldwell, he’s just the guy who stands on the sidelines. The real coach of that team is Peyton Manning. That is no knock on Jim Caldwell at all. Peyton Manning is just a genius.

My heart wants the Saints to win, because my love is from New Orleans. My brain and all my years watching football, however, tell me that no one is beating Manning and the Colts today.

Sometimes, though, the heart can really out-do the brain. So I am going to go out on a limb and predict that the the Saints will score 30, while Manning and the Colts will score 27.

I will, however, say this (and I feel a little like Shannon Sharpe here): The game can easily end up with the Colts beating the Saints with a score of 41-21. Having said that, I am going to predict that after 40 years in the NFL, the New Orleans Saints are due.

I may be right or I may be wrong, but in life it really doesn’t matter. It’s all about going with your heart. That is today’s lesson.

5-4-3-2-1 . . . Happy New Year! Or, wait a second, maybe I’m counting down too early — or too late. Maybe you’re reading this in Europe or in Asia, and you’ve already done the 5-4-3-2-1.

In any case, welcome to the next decade! How was your decade?

If you had to write your own personal history of the ’00s, what would you say? What did you accomplish? What eluded you? How was the decade for you?

I can’t believe it’s been ten years since all the paranoid people were worried about Y2K. What are we going to worry about next? Didn’t Nostradamus have a prediction for 2012 or something?

It’s funny how fast a decade goes by, and here we are now about to do the same thing we do every year on New Year’s Eve. Some of you will be chasing the night, trying to find the perfect New Year’s Eve party that doesn’t exist. Others of you will stay home for a night of deep reflection.

Whatever you choose to do tonight, that is your choice. Personally, you know how I feel about chasing the night.

To me, tonight is just another Thursday night. We are going to go grab some dinner, wish each other a happy new year, and wake up tomorrow on Friday.

Life to me is just a continuous journey. I treat every day as another day I can learn something new and exciting, and grow as a person.

I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions, because most people break them in the first 24 hours. I believe in daily goals, because I’ve learned that setting small goals every day is the way to succeed in the long run.

It’s been an amazing 2009. I am very thankful for everyone in my life.

I am very thankful to be in love with a woman I think is the most beautiful woman in the world.

I am thankful for all of you who have followed my work, participated in the blog, purchased my products, and taken my Bootcamps.

I am thankful for everyone who works with me behind the scenes making this business and this website something of which I am very proud.

So let me leave you with one tip for tonight. If you’re not kissing someone at midnight, don’t worry about it.

Don’t think of it as not kissing someone on New Year’s Eve. Think of it as not kissing someone on Thursday night.

Not only that, most people have some really nasty breath tonight. They went out and ate at an over-priced buffet and drank some cheap alcohol. So, basically, you’re kissing staleness.

So, think of it this way and just enjoy whatever you choose to do.

Happy New Year!

This will be my final podcast of 2009. In two days, it will be 2010. The roaring 10s.

What did we call the the last decade? The 00s (the ‘zeros’)? The greedy 00s? The bank failure 00s? I mean what are we going to call this era (as it is about to end)? In today’s podcast, I am going to share my thoughts on the past year and the year to come.

I am also going to talk about how to unwind all the tension that the holidays cause. I mean, anyone whose parents drove them crazy over the holidays, please raise your hand.

How many of you had parental craziness during Christmas time? During family gatherings, how many of you felt evaluated and judged about where you are at in your life?

How many of you are looking forward to tomorrow night (New Year’s Eve) with bated breath, believing it will be the best night of the year for you?

In this podcast, I will be giving you some of my thoughts on all of these things. I will also be giving you a sneak peek into what I’ll be bringing you in 2010. I hope you enjoy it!

Can you believe that we are only about three weeks away from Christmas? I always tell people that this is the time of the year, as we near the end of the year, when you look back on the past twelve months and think to yourself, “Oh my God, what did I not accomplish this year?”

You do this about your business, and you do it about your emotions. I go through a really powerful lesson emotionally every year. It is a time when you get connected to yourself.

The holiday time is probably the best time to meet people because everybody is full of emotions. Whether you’re a man or a woman, the only way you are ever really going to really connect with people is based on emotion.

We are emotional creatures. We are emotional beings. Women certainly want to connect with men emotionally. Men want to connect with women in the same way, except they just don’t want to admit it.

In today’s podcast we are going to go through something related to this that you really need to explore. It’s called getting in touch with your emotions.

Do you want your New Year’s Eve photo to be you embracing someone amazing, or another photo of you embracing the same group of single friends?

We are going to get you to tap into your emotions today. Once you do that, you are going to see the world in a whole different way!

I always get emails from people about dates, and what are the best things to do on them. People are always asking me, “is dinner and a movie okay?”

Sure, dinner and a movie are great – if you want to sit there in silence and stare at a screen for two hours. You drop them off at the end of the night and you haven’t learned a thing about them the entire evening!

How about going to a movie and bringing a picnic into the movie? Having a picnic during a movie is always fun. You can hide it in your manbag! You can whip out this great little sushi meal as you watch The Return of Godzilla! You could even make the food fit the theme of the movie.

How about watching the sunset? Most people think, let’s go to the beach and watch the sunset. It’s like kissing on New Year’s Eve – how cliché. I read something recently in a magazine that I thought was a cool idea: why don’t you paint the sunset?

Go to the store and get two paint kits and actually paint the sunset. Whether you are a professional artist or a stick-figure artist (like me) you will really be able to interact with the person you are painting with. You could ask them, “so what made you put the sun to the right?” “Why does your stick figure look so much different than mine?

What about a Sunday drive? Instead of just cruising to the beach or a lake, why don’t you go to open houses? I’ve talked a lot about this in some of my products. Take a look at some of the houses in both the good and the bad neighborhoods. Get an idea of what each of you like in a house.

This will bring up a lot of interesting conversations between the two of you as well. Even if a house that you look at isn’t really that great, you can talk about it and it will give you an idea of the depth of her character

And when you go and visit the McMansions you can take a look at it, have some fun and really pretend that you’re interested in buying the house. It can be a really fun day.

Here’s something I’ve read about but I’ve never really done it: shooting clay birds. I don’t know, I’ve never really seen a clay bird. I have a bird in my office two days a week, but I’ve never shot clay birds in my life. Apparently it’s quite fun and a good idea for a date. Go figure that one out.

So there are some new date ideas for you.

Todays video is all about how to meet women on a Saturday.

This is one place that you would have never thought of!!!
