Do you realize that every day when you wake up you have an opportunity to recreate yourself?

I remember when I was 19 and a sophomore at American University, I got broken up with by my high school girlfriend for the third time. (Thanks, Chris, for breaking my heart three times—now I know why I’m such a cold person. …Just kidding.) But anyway, my heart was broken. And I remember going to American University and thinking to myself, “You know, I want an abundance of girls I can date. I want to be able to meet girls whenever I want. I want people to know me for the person that I always dreamt myself to be.”

You know that superhero version of ourselves that we have in our heads? That incredible, awesome version of you that goes on all the adventures and saves the world? Well, we get so caught up in that superhero version of ourselves, but we don’t really know how to execute it. But here’s the deal: every day when we wake up, we’re naked. We are raw and vulnerable to the world. But then we put on this shell and our shell is all of our past experiences of failure and people that hurt us. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

When I went to college my sophomore year, I decided that I was going to become the person I always dreamt of because nobody knew who I was. I was able to portray the most confident version of myself because that is all they knew. They didn’t know about my past failures, they didn’t know anything about my past.

That’s how the world looks at you every single day. That girl that you are looking at in the corner at the grocery store, she has no idea that you are insecure. She has no idea that you have approach anxiety. The girl that you are checking out in the line at Starbucks has no idea about your approach anxiety or about any of your fears. It is about really becoming naked, open and vulnerable every single day.

For all of you that haven’t heard yet, I have got a brand new book out called Naked. Naked is all about stripping down all of your fears and all of your insecurities and allowing the world to see the amazing superhero version of yourself. It’s only $10 and it’s something that I think all of you need to grab because it’s a wonderful starting point for the new you.

When my publisher asked me when I wanted the book to come out, I said I wanted it to come out in the beginning of the year, so that everybody who is working on their resolutions and their new self will actually have something to work with. Naked is full of exercises. It’s a step-by-step guide to becoming totally raw, open, and vulnerable and so that you can go after what you want, not only in dating, but also in life.

Hey Thursday. Wow. Five days in the new year already. It’s pretty amazing! Just wait. Before you know it we’ll be in February, then we’ll be in March, and the next thing you know, we’ll be wishing each other Merry Christmas again! (Ho Ho Ho!)

Earlier, I asked all the awesome people on my newsletter subscriber list to come to the blog today and post their goals for 2012. Many of the guys I speak with want a girlfriend this year. And if you’re a woman, you might want a boyfriend this year. (I know a lot of women still post here and then they post on the women’s site as well also.)

What are your goals? What do you want to accomplish? What do you want to experience? What do you want to feel? How many women do you want to meet? Do you want a relationship? Do you want to meet a wife? Do you want…what exactly?

I’ve asked everybody on my newsletter subscriber list to come back to the blog today and state what they want to accomplish this year because this is what I want to do for 2012: I want every single person on this blog to be held accountable by each other. I want everybody to really look at each other and support one another this year. I think it’s a great way to start. No back-stabbing. No arguments on the blog. We all lay on the line today what we want to accomplish in 2012. And we make it the theme this year to support one another.

When anybody has a question, I want everybody to reach out and support that person and help them overcome whatever fear or barrier they might have.

So this year, my goal for the blog is to make everybody support one another. I’d love to see 100 comments a day of people helping each other. And if one person has a problem one day, let’s all dive in and help that person. Even if it takes 30 comments to help them out. Let’s do it. Think about how you can change someone’s life just by doing that. Also by helping other people, you learn so much about yourself. You learn about who you are and what you’re about. You learn about how to really work on your own stuff, too.

So 2012 on the blog, we’re going to support and help one another. Post away, friends.

I always get emails from people about dates, and what are the best things to do on them. People are always asking me, “is dinner and a movie okay?”

Sure, dinner and a movie are great – if you want to sit there in silence and stare at a screen for two hours. You drop them off at the end of the night and you haven’t learned a thing about them the entire evening!

How about going to a movie and bringing a picnic into the movie? Having a picnic during a movie is always fun. You can hide it in your manbag! You can whip out this great little sushi meal as you watch The Return of Godzilla! You could even make the food fit the theme of the movie.

How about watching the sunset? Most people think, let’s go to the beach and watch the sunset. It’s like kissing on New Year’s Eve – how cliché. I read something recently in a magazine that I thought was a cool idea: why don’t you paint the sunset?

Go to the store and get two paint kits and actually paint the sunset. Whether you are a professional artist or a stick-figure artist (like me) you will really be able to interact with the person you are painting with. You could ask them, “so what made you put the sun to the right?” “Why does your stick figure look so much different than mine?

What about a Sunday drive? Instead of just cruising to the beach or a lake, why don’t you go to open houses? I’ve talked a lot about this in some of my products. Take a look at some of the houses in both the good and the bad neighborhoods. Get an idea of what each of you like in a house.

This will bring up a lot of interesting conversations between the two of you as well. Even if a house that you look at isn’t really that great, you can talk about it and it will give you an idea of the depth of her character

And when you go and visit the McMansions you can take a look at it, have some fun and really pretend that you’re interested in buying the house. It can be a really fun day.

Here’s something I’ve read about but I’ve never really done it: shooting clay birds. I don’t know, I’ve never really seen a clay bird. I have a bird in my office two days a week, but I’ve never shot clay birds in my life. Apparently it’s quite fun and a good idea for a date. Go figure that one out.

So there are some new date ideas for you.

Todays video is all about how to meet women on a Saturday.

This is one place that you would have never thought of!!!
