Hey guys, Shogo here with the first Friday blog of 2012!

Well, the first weekend of 2012 is officially here. Have you made plans yet to set things into action and go out and meet people this weekend? Have you made resolutions to master your communication skills, go on more dates, get laid more often? Have you started seeing somebody new and now you’re looking to turn this into something real instead of just another failed relationship

Whatever it is your goals are, the only way to get it done is by starting off on the right foot and actually taking action. Start off the New Year with the right positive energy by setting goals for yourself and then following through with baby steps.

Maybe you want to go out for 5 hours each day this weekend and talk to as many people as you can instead of staring at your computer or watching the football games and wasting away your weekend. Maybe you want to go out and approach three beautiful women and start a conversation with each of them this Saturday, and then do the same thing again on Sunday. Maybe you’ve had your eye set on the cute Starbucks girl that you’ve never had the guts to ask out and now you’re ready to say, “Fuck it” and tell her you think she’s cute.

Maybe you already have an exact picture of how you expect it to go down all planned out in your head. Maybe you can picture right now exactly the way it’s supposed to happen.

Momentum Is Everything

Whatever your vision is, whatever your goals are, right now is the time to set the tone for the rest of the year. Your goals may just be in your head as dreams, desires, or New Years resolutions right now. But the only way to make them a reality is by making a commitment to yourself to put your internal goals into action. Make that internal decision to go out this weekend and follow though on your plans.

Take little baby steps if your need to. Tone it down. Maybe you don’t have the skillset right now to go out on Saturday and randomly approach five women. Start off by approaching one woman and see what happens. Then the day after, approach two women. Maybe you don’t have the confidence right now to ask out the Starbucks girl. That’s fine. Start off by engaging her in a 15 second conversation. Start off just by smiling and saying, “Hi.” It’s all part of a much bigger picture, and that picture is how you envision your social life to look like this year.

The main thing right now is to make a commitment to yourself to take action. Give yourself your word, and then keep your own word. Put one foot in front of the other and just start doing something. Momentum is the name of the game. Get a start on something, even if it’s just a little tiny baby step, because that is the first step in following through on the bigger picture of your commitments.

By following through on your commitments right now, this weekend, you are setting the tone for the rest of the year. You are rolling the ball into action and it’s going to start gaining momentum. Then the next day, you take another step and put your goals even further into action. And further.

The last thing you want to do right now is sit at the office, think about doing something, and then go home, order Chinese food and watch YouTube videos or read some pick-up e-book until midnight.

You need to do whatever it takes to get your ass into gear. o get that one foot even just a few inches in front of the other. Think about it—how do you want to set the tone for 2012? Do you want to start off with a bang? Do you want to start off with the great feeling of actually getting one step closer to your commitments? Or do you want to start off the year by sitting around thinking about how you’re going to plan your strategy? Because that’s a waiting game you can play with yourself forever. And yes, you will be playing with yourself…forever.

If you need a pep talk, email me with where you’re at and what your goals are to shogo@davidwygant.com and I will personally hold you accountable to me and kick your ass into gear.

It’s all about momentum, so get that ball rolling guys. Because once you’re in gear, you will be unstoppable.

One of the people who listened to yesterday’s podcast on persistence, sent me this question: “Dude, do you kick your own ass every day?” (By the way, if you missed yesterday’s podcast, you can CLICK HERE to listen to it now)

I kick my own ass every day. I challenge myself every day. I do it in my relationships, I do it with my friends and I still do it in business.

I look for ways to improve myself every single day. I wake up in the morning and I do a “to do” list with both work and personal things.

I kick my own ass every single day because this is my shot at living. I have no idea where we go next. I really don’t.

I’d like to believe that my soul will go somewhere else, kind of like in the movie “Defending Your Life” (which is a great movie by the way). I want to believe that my soul may move on — maybe as Daphne the dog or as a woman.

Man, would that ever be great to come back as a woman. I’ll finally know what multiple orgasms are all about.

It would also be wonderful to have a clit. It would be one of the greatest things in the world. I could come 70 times a day. Why not?

I’m a guy. I know what it’s like to be a guy. I don’t know what it’s like to be a woman, so it would be just a wonderful experience to be able to enjoy that.

I really don’t know what I’m going to be or In what form I’m going to come back. I might come back as a car interior. I mean, who knows? I might come back as a cow who gets slaughtered and whose hide gets used in a BMW, and then I would have people sitting on my face for ten years.

Everything in life is about energy, so you have no idea as what you’ll come back. What is most important, though, is knowing that what you’ll come back as is unknown and all you know for certain is the life you are living right now. That is why I kick my ass every single day.

I have challenges. Believe me, I have plenty of them.

If you came into my house, you’d see challenges. There are challenges in my relationship. I still have challenges with my mother. I have challenges with some co-workers at times.

Nevertheless, I try really hard every single day to kick my own ass, so I can grow as a person. I wanted to share that with you guys so you know I’m no different than you.

I talk more about how to go through this process for yourself every day HERE.

Have you ever seen the movie The Sixth Sense in which the little kid utters that now famous line, “I see dead people?” I sometimes feel like I see bullshit.

I read my emails every day and I listen to what people are saying, but when I read between the lines what I really see is bullshit. Every day someone emails me and tells me that they can’t do something, or they won’t do something or that change is too hard.

The truth is that they don’t want to do the work because the work is too hard. A lot of people are lazy. A lot of people don’t want to do the work.

A friend of mine has been complaining for the last fifteen years about how fat he is. Every year when I go see him in Manhattan he complains about this and tells me that he needs to lose weight.

Then he’ll go on some miracle 48 hour diet expecting it to fix the problem. I tell him all the time that if he’d just go to the gym and do cardio four days a week, that he will lose weight. I tell him that if he’d just eat healthy that he would look good.

I’ve had this same conversation with him probably at least one thousand times, but he’s always looking for the miracle cure to the problem. We’re all looking for the miracle cure, which is why I see bullshit.

There is no miracle cure to losing weight. The only way to lose weight and get great muscle tone is to work out.

There is no miracle cure for anything. There is no miracle way to meet men or women unless you practice and do the things necessary to develop the muscles in your brain (your personality and inner confidence).

There are no shortcuts. So when I find a person who is looking for a shortcut or who falls for shortcuts, I usually say to them “I see bullshit.” I see bullshit every single day.

You want to be a great lover? What you need to do is practice. How do you practice? You learn, you read and you practice with people. You open yourself up and you tell the truth.

I recently had a client at a Bootcamp who is a fantastic guy, but didn’t have much sexual experience at all. I told him he needed to practice. I told him to find some great women that are attracted to him and learn how to be a great lover.

You’re never going to become great at anything unless you practice. Ask any athlete about this and they will tell you the same thing.

Do you think Lance Armstrong wanted to ride his bike 35 miles every day? No, he didn’t. Do you think Peyton Manning wants to throw the same route over and over again to Reggie Wayne in practice when he’s already done it 10,000 times already? Probably not.

I remember reading on the Internet one time that Peyton Manning had thrown something like 123 touchdown passes to Marvin Harrison. Really, though, he’s thrown over 10,000 touchdown passes to him if you count all the times he’s thrown those same passes to him in practice (so that those passes would be successful in the games).

Do you want things in your life to work for you? Then you’ve got to work at it.

Whether you want to lose weight, meet women or be a better lover doesn’t matter. Whatever you want to achieve in life, you need to go out and practice. You need to work hard.

You need to be willing to do things you’ve never done before. Otherwise, all you’re going to hear me say is, “I see bullshit.”

Let’s talk a little bit about setting an intent. I’m going to share a story with you, one that is very personal to me.

The other night I was kind of just sitting around, and I started reminiscing a little bit. Then I started thinking to myself, “God, it’s amazing.” I read all your posts on the blog and on YouTube. I see all of you struggling so much either trying to meet someone, to work on aspects of your relationship or to work on aspects of yourself. What I realized was that I think a lot of you are missing the point.

Here’s the story I want to share with you. When I was nineteen years old, I was really skinny. I know I’m not exactly the bulkiest guy in the world right now. At nineteen, though, I was really thin. I was a ‘tall drink of water’ — tall, lean and thin.

Then I saw the movie Flashdance. As most of you know, Flashdance was a hot, sexy dance movie. After seeing it I thought to myself, “I really want to be in that type of shape where I can just rock it at all times.”

The minute the movie ended, I went into the basement of the house I was renting in college and I started working out. I haven’t stopped since that day.

I have been working out since I was nineteen, and I’m now 47 years old. I’ve been working out consistently for 28 years.

When I was in my 20s, I was a big guy. I was bulky, big around the neck, and had big arms and shoulders. Now, at 47 years old, I’m more lean again.

The one thing that will never change about me is being in shape. I will always be in shape.

Why? Because I work at it every day. Every single day I do something.

last night a took a long walk on the beach after we had dinner. The day before that I did weights. Tomorrow I’m probably going to go for a bike ride. The day after that I’m probably going to go do some more weights, maybe do a little bit of stretching and Pilates.

No matter what it is, every day I’m doing something. It might be for half an hour, 45 minutes or an hour. It doesn’t matter. The reason why I do it every day is because I believe there is no reason for me not to look good, and not to feel good about who I am and what I’m all about.

Why should I look flabby? Why should my woman look at me and think to herself, “God he looked so much better six months ago. Why doesn’t he look that good now?”

That’s the message I want to get through to all of you. The message is that if you want to achieve goals, you’ve got to painfully do something every day.

Do I enjoy working out? Some days I hate it. Do I enjoy taking a long walk? Sometimes I love it, but other times I just don’t want to do it.

I do it not only to look good, but also because it makes me feel good. I like to feel tight. I like to feel ripped. I like to feel my body.

I don’t like to feel flabby in any way. I wouldn’t want to see myself with a big belly.

Is this all ego? There’s probably a little bit of ego involved, but a big part of it is the way it makes me feel. I feel great.

All of you need to realize that in order for you to get good at something, you’ve got to do the work. You’ve got to drag your ass out there every single day. You’ve got to drag yourself out there even on days you don’t want to drag yourself out there.

You have no choice but to drag yourself out there and get things done. If you want to become good at something, then you’ve got to do it every single day (including on days you don’t want to do it).

So even when it’s cold or raining, you’ve got to get to the gym or get out there and meet people or do whatever it is that you have set as a goal for yourself. If you want to become a good conversationalist, for example, you’ve got to talk to everybody . . . and you’ve got to do it every day.

So many of you will get so frustrated — so painfully frustrated — while you’re working on a goal. It will drive you up the wall. It will drive you crazy. You’ll get so frustrated, it’s ridiculous.

You’ve got to work through those frustrations. I was so proud when I had that realization the other day that for the last 27 years I’ve worked through my frustrations and therefore can look in the mirror today knowing I’m in as good shape now as i was in at age nineteen.

Do you know how that makes me feel? I’ve got a herniated disc. You would never know it by looking at me . . . ever. I move well. I’m strong. That makes me feel great!

I’ve got a blown shoulder. I can move through that pain, and I’m strong as can be.

How about getting blown off by a woman once in a while. That is a frustration that I know many of you face. All of you can blow right through all that stuff. I know you can. I know every one of you can.

You’ve just got to persevere. You’ve just got to drag yourself out there every day and work on the things you need to work on. You can do it. I know you can do it.

Today’s video will help you understand women’s intent.
