Do you suffer from boring dates?

I’m a firm believer that whoever asks someone out on a date, should pay for that date. If you’re a woman and you ask a guy out on a date, then you pay for that date. It’s 2010. Pay for the date. You asked him out. He didn’t ask you out, so he doesn’t need to pay. Now I’m sure that there are women reading this right now thinking, “Wait a second. Men are always supposed to pay for the first date.”

Do you put too much pressure on a first date? Are you so nervous on that date that you’re afraid to talk? Are you always nervous that you might say the wrong thing?

Congratulations, man. I’m so glad that you hooked up! You’ve got a great date coming up. So, what are you going to do? Are you going to do the “same old same old” first date of going out to dinner where you watch each other chew across the table, swap resumes and then end the night wondering whether you should kiss her? I always get emails from people about dates, and what are the best things to do on them. People are always asking me, “is dinner and a movie okay?”

Sure, dinner and a movie are great – if you want to sit there in silence and stare at a screen for two hours. You drop them off at the end of the night and you haven’t learned a thing about them the entire evening!
