We hear the phrase over and over again: “The clothes make the man.”

Yet so many guys go out wearing the free t-shirt they got at the Microsoft Convention. They wear the sweatshirt that they got at the barbecue. They wear jeans that don’t fit them correctly, meaning they’re too big, too baggy, too over-dyed, what it might be. A lot of men wear clothes that they bought 15 years ago or 10 years ago so that they get the most amount money out of them.

But here’s the deal: the clothes do make the man and that’s what it’s all about.

When you first meet a woman for the very first time, I don’t care if it’s a date or if you’re going to approach her in the super market: what you’re wearing tells her how you take care of yourself. It shows her that you’re a well-made man, meaning you care about your appearance, you care about who you are, and you’re up on the latest trends and fashions.

Women in the olden days were all about fixing a man. It didn’t matter what the guy wore because she knew once they got into a relationship she’d be able to go through his closet and basically eliminate all the bad clothes and get the man to dress exactly the way that she wants.

Those days have come and gone with the Internet and all the great online clothing stores. You can go get nice clothes at a discount without having to leave your home. Women expect a guy to own his look and to have the right look for him. It’s really important and it’s a detail that a lot of men forget about.

If you’re confused about what to wear, this is what I strongly suggest: go to your local department store, maybe a Nordstrom’s, a Bloomingdale’s or a Macy’s. Find the cutest sales girl there is and walk directly over to her. Say, “Excuse me, I’m in dire need of a fashion make over. I’ve got the worst taste in clothes and I’m tired of it, and I’d like to get your opinion on things. Take me around and show me exactly what I should be wearing.”

And then just go around and try stuff on! When you come out of the dressing room, ask her what she thinks. You can ask the other sales girls what they think too. Ask some of the customers what they think. It’s a great way to meet women, too.

You don’t buy much of anything at the first store because these women might be on commission, so they might not be telling you the truth. But go to another men’s clothing store and find another cute sales girl and ask her the same exact thing. Do this all day long until you find the clothes that are in your budget that you like.

Make a list. Take pictures of what you like, so that way you know when to go back and what store to go back to and where to buy it. Not only is it a great way to come up with a new look—which is going to be great for meeting women—but you’ll actually meet women while you shop.

Women love when you do this. I do this all the time in my boot camps with the guys. I always take them out and always get them to become the fashion victim. Women love doing make overs. You can flirt and talk to them and hang out with them. It’s a great way to practice your flirting skills. It’s a great way to practice to approach skills, and it’s a great way to find a new wardrobe, so you’re killing two birds with one stone.

. . .

So, in essence, the man makes the man; but, the clothes make the woman notice the man.

Enjoy your holiday weekend!!

Let’s talk today about how to get from here to there. So many people cannot imagine what it takes to get to there from here.

Well look at us and look at where we are today!
Its the kickoff to Summer!!

Enjoy your holiday weekend!!

Let’s talk today about how to get from here to there. So many people cannot imagine what it takes to get to there from here.

Earlier today, some clients and I went into Z Clothing in Brentwood, which a friend of mine owns. I met my friend Barry about five years ago, just walking into the store as anyone would. I was just a regular consumer.

Most people walk in and say, “Hey, I’m looking for a pair of jeans.” I walked in, and I was just myself. I talked to Barry, and I learned about him. And then the next time I walked into the store, I remembered things about him from the last conversation we’d had. And we built a relationship on that.

I’m always thinking about the present. Everything I do today could pay off in the future. But most people are looking out for the immediate payoff. “There’s no women in here, I can’t afford these clothes, fuck it!” I look at life like I’m investing in a stock for the future.

So five years later, we walk into the store today, and I’m helping Barry out with a sale. I lent him one of my employees for two days to help him out with the sale.

I walked in there, we talked, and I found a pair of jeans that were on sale, and he just gave them to me. We’ve been friends for so long. I gave him my employee; he gave me a pair of jeans! It’s just friends helping each other out.

This is how you build up these things. You see that person walking into the deli and always getting the extra sandwich meat, or the free stuff – it’s because of what he or she did in that moment.

I don’t expect anything. Most people walk in expecting things. They expect something to happen, and they want something to happen. They get disappointed if something doesn’t happen that very day. Me? I don’t care. I don’t expect anything to happen.

My future is full of wonderful, unexpected things. Because of how I have invested my time, whenever I walk into a place, I get so many amazing things.

Most people get nothing amazing everyday because they are just thinking about being rewarded at that instant.

You don’t need to be rewarded. The reward will come down the road.

Free T Shirt Guy By David Wygant

So what you need to do is look deep in your closets, and you need to figure out if you are the guy that always wears the free shirts.

How many shirts do you own from company picnics? How many shirts do you own from the Microsoft convention you went to? How about the trade show you went to last year, and you picked up six shirts because you thought it was so cool they were giving them out?

Let me tell you something – you don’t want to be that guy that walks around wearing free shirts. If you own logo shirts that say ‘Microsoft’ or ‘Google’ or ‘Adobe’ – or any other company – you are basically wearing clothes that you got for free, and what that tells women is that you’re too cheap to even buy yourself clothes.

Usually these free shirts also fit awfully, because generally they figure that one size fits all – they’ve got extra larges, they have larges – and you’re a small. You’re wearing that shirt that droops off over your shoulders – it doesn’t even look good – and it’s got a company emblem on it too.

What you’re telling the opposite sex is that you’re too cheap. By wearing these shirts, you’re telling women that you’re going to be cheap with them to.

When you’re dating somebody, she doesn’t want for you to come home and say, “honey, look what I got you at the Microsoft convention – a couple of free t-shirts! Feel – 100% cotton!”

Not only that, but the 100% cotton that they use is the worst cotton in the world – these shirts are starchy, itchy, and they don’t fit right. There is nothing cool about them, so don’t be that guy.

If you have these clothes in your wardrobe, you need to get rid of them – immediately. You need to do some shopping. You don’t want to be the guy who walks around in Free Shirt Land.
