What a plan! And it works too! I am so amazed at the ingenuity behind the cleverness of the 'meeting plan'. I just would have never thought to do some of these things.....I just found out about the coffee shops...and to think, I thought they were built just for folks to go sit and drink coffee.....he he, just found out about the book store too......am loving this new found knowledge! Now, got to put some of it into practice.

I remember my Dad singing that song over and over again on the way to G'ma's every holiday. It was the precursor to an afternoon and evening of relatives that otherwise would have gladly just stayed at home and avoided each other. Enough food to feed a small village and all the men screaming at football on the TV. It was the best time with our cousins; we would laugh and play games, and observe the obsurdity of adults going through the motions of the "perfect Thanksgiving gathering". Amazing how one little song can remind me of all that.

My kids and I have changed things up and take this day to enjoy our little family and be thankful for all the good things in our lives. We are having fun being non-traditional and creating good memories.

I did the internet dating thing for about 4 years and found that right around Thanksgiving until after New Year's, the dating communication dropped way off... maybe they were all out at the Whole Foods store networking. LOL I like to sit at coffee shops. Even if it's a slow day for single meeting, it's always interesting to watch the others.
