Imagine for a second that you’re a major league baseball player.

You picked up the newspaper, or you checked online, and today on ESPN they’re talking all about how you are having the greatest start to a career in baseball today. As you read the article, you start to feel really good about yourself. You think to yourself, wow, the start of my career is as good as when Bryce Harper started his career.

get out of your headAnd then you read on. They say you’re even better than Bryce Harper in the beginning. You start to feel great about yourself. You start reading each word. You start thinking to yourself, I’m a stud. Man I could go out there and just slay any pitcher. I’m 23-years-old, and I’m going to have a major league baseball career. They’re going to put me in the hall of fame.

You start feeling amazing about yourself.

And then, just like with everything in life, there’s always something negative that somebody wants to talk about.

As you read on it happens, it comes, it hits you.

You can’t hit left handers.

At all. As a matter of fact, yesterday in the ball game against the San Francisco Giants, you struck out three times, you popped up another two. You can’t hit left handers. The sportscaster goes on and says you cannot hit left handers and throughout your career, you’re 6 to 30 against left handers.

That means you’re batting 180 against left handers. You suck against left handers.

Then the article ends of course with a positive note saying if it’s still early in your career, hopefully you’ll be able to correct this issue.

So after feeling like a super stud who can literally walk into the hall of fame, you now suck against left handers, and you’re not a complete player. Not only that, the report also says that your manager should maybe sit you more against left handers, so you should become a part-time player.

Eliminate Negative Hype About Yourself

Why do I talk about baseball today?

Because this is something you do to yourself every single day.

You tell yourself that you can’t talk to women.

You have a narrative and a story. You’re like a bad ESPN sportscaster wearing a suit on television.

In your head you hear dadada and you imagine one of the many ESPN reporters talking about how bad you suck at women.

Man that guy can’t close from his left-hand side.

When he approaches from the left-hand side he strikes out every single time. He’s only good at really approaching women from the right side. If the conversation gets going, he runs out of things to say over and over again. Let’s go to the video tape and watch him flub with a woman right now.

And then the video tape plays.

It shows your attempt at meeting at girl. You’re forced to watch it.

The first words, ooh, strike one.

The second words, oh no, strike two.

The third words, oh my God, she walked away with drink in hand, and guess who’s standing there by himself with his dick in his hand?

That’s right.  You.

You’re standing there with your dick in your hand, because once again, you believe the negative hype about yourself.

Get Out of Your Head and Change Your Story

What do you do to change this?

I want you to re-write your story. I want you to pretend that you work for ESPN, or a local newspaper, and I want you to write a story right now.

The story is going to be about you and how fantastic you are at meeting girls.

And you’re going to write about how great the sex is going to be with the girls that you meet, and how you’re going to meet your next girlfriend and how gorgeous and beautiful and evolved and sexy and amazing and brilliant she is.

I want you to write that story, write it down right now.

Then I want you to read that story over and over again, because life is a confidence game.

You need to re-write that story so your confidence soars, so you start believing in yourself. So you finally make it to Canton, Ohio.

And you’re next to all the other great producers in the world when you’re featured in the major league hall of fame of pick-up artists – well, maybe you don’t want to be in that type of thing, but you get my drift. Every guy is going to think about you and say, wow, this guy is a super stud. He can approach women from the left side, he can approach them from the right side. He can hit a fastball down the plate, and there’s not one person that intimidates him at all.

Write your hero story. Write it and read it 100 times out loud like you’re an ESPN reporter.

And guess what is going to happen? You’re going to change your belief, change your mindset, and you’re actually going to be able to finally do it. You’re finally going to be able to get out of your head.
