A Happy New Year to everyone!

I have a little different way for you to think about the New Year besides writing a list of New Year’s resolutions. It’s not that you should not have resolutions and big goals you want to achieve in 2009. I’m suggesting that for today, though, you focus on something else.

So instead of thinking about all the long-term goals you want to accomplish for the entire year 2009, try thinking about what you can do immediately (even today!) so that you can have a powerful beginning to 2009. See today as a day to start fresh and new, and as a day to let go of EVERYTHING!

By letting go of everything and doing things like this you will create new energy, and you’ll be on the right track to make 2009 everything you want it to be. Here are some suggestions for things you can do to help you have a powerful beginning to 2009:

Tell someone from your heart that you love them.

Perform a random act of kindness to a stranger.

Call an old friend with whom you had a falling out but whom you miss. Let go of whatever happened between you and reach out to make a fresh start.

Thank your parents for just being who they are and for all that they have been for you in your life. Don’t think about all the the things your parents may not have been.

If you are in a relationship, tell that person how much you appreciate them in all ways.

Doing things like these are a great way to engage the New Year. Don’t just let this first day of the New Year pass by without taking real action to put yourself on track to make 2009 your best year ever!

Challenge yourself to look “outside the box” and really create great new energy all around you. Open yourself up in 2009 to great communication and love.

Have a fantastic New Year’s Day!
