Shelby

I love the first pickup line, my friends and I are always joking around and using that one. It is actually pretty successful to tell the truth, something different and funny!

Foxy Blonde - Great advice!!! It's so refreshing when a guy just introduces himself ... old fashioned? Maybe, but it works and I like it. I have 2 favorite pickup lines (although I think if someone used the 2nd pick up line the first time I met them, I'd hit them ... an old bf used to use it when he just got back from a business trip).

#1
guy: How much does a polar bear weigh?
gal: no clue
guy: Enough to break the ice. Hi, I'm _____.

#2
That outfit looks great on you, but it would look even better on the floor in my room.

FB-

Thanks for the solid, straight-ahead advice, really well written, by the way. What you say makes so much sense, it's hard to believe things have reached the state that we need to be told.

Jim and Dave-

I like what you guys said. Setting up a situation that lets her tease you has to be a plus, and a woman taking the initiative to ask your name makes a great barometer of how things are going. Dave, do you ever ask her what her name is first?

I don't open with my name. I come in with a warm vibe like I'm walking up to friends I already know... which would not include telling them my name. If the conversation is interesting or intriguing enough after a little while, they'll usually ask my name on their own... which I take as a good sign.

Foxy:

I once read that someone should always introduce themself using their name . They said that people who do this show a level of esteem and value as a person. I found that girls would tease me, when getting to know them. Example. I would always introduce myself as you described, but also when i have just called, or met them a coupe of times. I would say my first and last name. They would tease me a little, say I know who you are, and they would repeat my first and last name with warmth. Very endearing.
