Most of the times if you walk away, the guy will eventually stop because he never really intended to fight in the first place, but there are those other guys who are determined. Maybe leaving the venue, heading towards security or something of that nature would work out. I tend to avoid fights at any cost as all it takes is one good punch for you to lose your vision or even die and often times, defending yourself can have you end up in jail.
