It’s Just Another Excuse
Hey, it’s funny. I just got this email from a reader:
David,
Hear you have a private member site that you’re charging like $37 a month for. I’m sure it’s great and all, but $37 bucks a month is really too much money for me to spend at this time in my life. Don’t know how I can justify spending that much or if I even have that much extra every month to spend.
Donny, NY
Donny’s email along with some great news for you (which I’ll fill you in on in a minute) inspired me to write this blog.
I do have a membership site that costs $37.42 per month. For that $37.42 per month, members get access to a load of member-only things including a killer forum, five podcasts per week, four long videos per week, a weekly teleconference, and member-only discounts and promotions.
In addition, all members have 24/7 access to my coaches and individualized coaching. One of the favorite features are my video breakdowns. Four times a week a week I post a 30 minute video me breaking down an audio or video submitted by one of the members. These are like being with me live as I’m coaching a client.
So when Donny wrote me to say that $37.42 a month for all of this was way too much for him to spend at this time in his life, I felt compelled to respond. Let’s talk about $37 a month.
I just had lunch with somebody, and it cost me $37. So $37 is basically like eliminating one lunch. It’s eliminating one night of drinking in a bar. I mean, if you are serious about wanting to go out and meet women, why are you going to deprive yourself of that? This site gives you that opportunity and so much more.
So to Donny and any who have a similar mindset that $37.42 is too much to spend to invest in yourself and for this, I’m calling you out on your shit. The fact of the matter is that if Donny was really serious about meeting women, he could find a way to make the $37 happen. It’s just another excuse, and I’m tired of excuses.
So anybody who’s serious about learning to meet and connect with women can join me on my membership site. The rest of you can just continue to learn from the blog. For those of you who do and give me attitude about wanting something more for free than I already give, though, I don’t have the time or patience to care about those who don’t respect my time.
In today’s podcast, I am going to issue a challenge you like none other . . . and you will look at yourself in a way you never have before. I also reveal a SPECIAL OFFER in this podcast, so be sure to check it out!

Now for that great news I referenced earlier…
==>Big Announcement<==
As some of you already know, my membership maxed out and has been full since soon after it launched. In fact, we had to put everyone who wasn't able to get a slot on a waiting list.
Well, due to me hiring an additional coach I am now able to accept an additional 125 Members on the membership site! (Because of all the individual coaching and personalized attention that members receive on the site, I strictly limit the number of members in proportion to the number of coaches)
If you want one of those slots, click here:
Once those 125 slots have been snatched up, the site will once again close and I will once again have to put everyone else on a waiting list. So if you want one of these slots, I wouldn’t wait too long to click on the link!

Out of curiosuty i did join the members site even i knew i was only for men. For the amount they do a great job. I did stop the membership as a lot of the things they offer were not relevant for me as a girl, but when David starts up his site for us girls or make one that caters to both sexes, i just might rejoin. Not just for dating purposese bit also general developement.
The teleconferences are great so are the videos. Quite honestly for 37 you really can’t go wrong. Personally i would have loved a whole section on NLP.
I gotta agree, 37 bucks is a real bargain for the membership site. I know things are tough financially right now for everyone, but I still think this is a great deal.
Well Donny, that $37.42 is roughly £25 which is what my cell phone contract costs a month. You haven’t stated what time in your life you are in so i can’t judge you, but let me say something. For the same price, you can sign up to a dating site and get none of the advice David is offering. None whatsoever. And when you cancel the membership but keep the profile, you’ll get bogus members sending you messages to the point you sign back in to find out what they’ve sent you, only to find it IS bogus.
I don’t know if you are unemployed or not, if that is the case fair enough.
To be fair, you should try it out and the “proof is in the pudding” – always. If the stuff David et al is writing helps (and it does), then its money well spent. David being David constantly adds more content anyway and does offers all the time so it is worth it. I don’t know of any other site that offers what David does and most of the other stuff online is copied from other stuff that doesn’t work (if you have tried enough online you would know).
If you want something bad enough, you’ll find a way to make it so….
I don’t think you only learn how to date girls… it is more! It is a life thing! You learn how to present yourself, how to talk and find ways to handle different situations!
If you see it from the other hand it is $1,23 / day! iPhone App’s are more expensive
I have the same issues in my business which has to do with health. But hey … who cares? We just want the best for the rest! If you don’t want it…. you don’t need to
@David: Thanks a lot for all the effort you put into it! I love to read your blog!! By the way: It would be really cool if you’d use your Twitter to give updates when you’re out on a boot camp or so on
So we can see live and learn! That would be awesome!
Greetings from Gdansk!
Alright David, good point.
Good point David and I will join your membership site as soon as I get a job. Right now, I’m living off of unemployment and I have to save as much as I can. You give great advice in your free blog, so I can’t wait to see what you have on your membership site. Hopefully, you will have some openings next month.
“The rest of you, I really don’t care about.”
That’s really harsh. Just proves how much you are really about selling your products and making money and not really caring about anything else. All of this you got going on is a great business, but that was a pretty big negative remark. It could have been just an “excuse” as you put it… but you can’t really judge someone by just that email. And if your regular lunch costs $37, that’s pretty crazy. For $37 I will have a lunch for a week and maybe more. I just found your response to this really arrogant.
I have a legit excuse. Rent + mortgage on a vacant house that won’t sell + alimony + bills = $700 per month more than I take home! I’m already eating on credit, so the timing is just not good for me.
Iggy – Your comment I think ironically makes the point David was trying to make with this blog.
Aside form the fact that I would bet he meant he paid for lunch for himself and the person he had lunch with, I think the point he was making there was that it is a matter of priorities and a manifestation of people’s excuses.
He was saying that we find all kinds of things to spend money on that don’t serve to help us achieve our big goals like improving our personal lives, but will at the same time say we “can’t afford” to invest in ourselves. It IS an excuse. If investing in yourself was the most important thing to you, then you can (if ou aren’t using excuses) find something in your life that you spend $37 dollars on in a month which ISN’T helping you achieve that goal and put it toward something which is (like this membership site)
Also, your comment about David wanting to make money is totally ridiculous. OF COURSE he wants to make money, this is his business. Do YOU work for free? I wonder if you had a business how you would respond to someone like yourself who came into your store and asked you to perform services for them for free.
C’mon…. David gives away TONS of free content here. And if you read any of the FREE stuff he writes, you would never say that David doesn’t care … You sound like you are all excuses Iggy…….
Iggy where are you living where you can get a week’s worth of lunches out on $37? Ok, so it was a bit negative, but aren’t you being a bit harsh here? I mean, for example, I’m a nurse in an ICU, I love what I do, but I can’t afford to do it for free. Got bills to pay, a home to pay for, kids to feed…crazy stuff like that…oh yeah, and that having a life thing…
Bertie, in no way was I suggesting that David would run his business for free. I was just shocked after reading what he wrote. After all… and correct me if I’m wrong… aren’t many (if not all) of David’s customers people with excuses? If so, why pick on this kid? It was just a bit harsh in my opinion.
marina–miss you on the site too! Hopefully we’ll get more of the women stuff going soon for us ladies! Men–hope to see more of you on the membership site!
Iggy,
Do you realize that I post 365 blogs a year for free, I have posted over 200 videos on YouTube for free, and I post comments on the blog daily for free. I am about as understanding about people’s financial situations as anyone, and I give a lot of free content.
My inbox is full of peole who email me questions thinking I have endless time to answer things for free. I really don’t have time to answer all of those questions for free. All over my site there are opportunities for coaching and I address people’s questions that are posted for free in the blog all the time.
I set up the membership site so there would be a place for guys to be able to learn as much as they can – even if it is only for one month.
I want to be able to coach as many people as I can, and I am even taking on fewer private clients so I can devote time to this membership site and reach more people. My Bootcamps cost $2,500 and I realize that many people cannot afford that – which is why I created this membership site and provide a place with lots of access to personalized coaching and other resources at an affordable price.
But you know what? I have to charge something for the help I give because I value my time. I love what I do for a living. I do a lot for free – more so than any other dating coach on the Internet in fact – but if this business didn’t pay my bills then I wouldn’t be able to do it.
See, Iggy, I live in L.A. where lunch for two does cost $37. I wish I could live in a place where lunch only cost $37 a week, but maybe you and I have different taste in food.
The point I’m making is that people waste time and money on things to meet people but don’t spend the time and money to learn the skills that will really help them do that. It’s about looking in the mirror and admitting our faults. It’s about facing what our true excuses are.
I am far more compassionate about people’s excuses than most, and I understand them because I used to have the same ones many of my readers have.
You don’t realize the number of people who email me and say they just read one of my blogs and would like some advice about the blog’s topic as it relates to their personal life. All they really have to do is post a question on the blog, but many people don’t do that.
I respect other people’s time and give lots of free advice. I don’t force anyone to buy things they can’t afford. The point of this blog was to “wake people up” about what excuses they may be using right now and see that it’s time to get rid of them.
The point of this blog was to expand your horizons and really make you really think about what excuses you are making every day. It was to make you take a hard look at how your excuses might be standing in your way.
Look deeper, Iggy, the message is there.
Kimberly
I really would love to hear what Davids friend who did the how to touch the breast what he would tell us girls to do. That was a funny clip.
David
Could you get an all girl site up, mens site is fun but not enough aimed at the girls, which is really the only reason I left. Otherwise it’s a fun site and you really don’t even need it for dating it’s as much for general personal developement.
Hey Guys
Just let u know I am on David Wygant’s Community Site and I find it fascinating I can write in my journal and not have to listen to pussies like DTO and whoever wants to join the pussy club of DTO. But hey guys go ahead if you can afford it join up; did you know that you can chat with most of the coaches and leave a message and sometimes they will answer it for you. Hey I know that I have not written in my journal for awhile but later on I will update it.
The 30 minute conference calls for members are for the other site,or for members of this site?
Do you think it’s a possibility to have a “Bronze” level membership, David? Perhaps like $20 per month, but less benefits than “Silver” level membership (for those who are not utilizing all the features in the “Silver” level membership, but wish to remain connected to the community).
Dan
Like maybe have forum access and some other limited access?
Is that what you are thinking?
Kismet
The conference calls are all part of the members site
BRING ON THE LADIES MEMBERSHIP SITE!!!! hee hee — I know whatever David does is definitely a bargain at only $37 a month! C’mon!!! I got his women’s mastery series and whenever I am having a down day, gotta pop it in and listen to David tell me how beautiful I am! I’m just fine after that!
David: Yes, forum access and other limited access. I have learned a lot from your weekend bootcamp and blog, but I am not utilizing all of the features in the membership site at the moment. I just feel like I am not maximizing all of the benefits of the “Silver” level membership.
For people who feel it’s too expensive, you have to realize that the coaches answer every single question you ask.
It’s like your virtual coach. Short of being there with you, it doesn’t get more personal than that…
Dan
Maybe in the future….we have very limited slots right now and as of tonight i think we only have 23 left.
I have to think about this.
I have 3 coaches full time in there and some new changes coming so maybe in may or june when we open more slots after we fill this one.
We can have a forum only or something.
Thanks for the feedback.
Gabrielle
In time we will have a womans site. We have an amazing womens seminar coming soon!!!
Dave
Thanks for what u just sent me that made me laugh my ass off! You know how to make my day..but the day I plan on coming to Callie to have a choking party with my son in law remind me to pay u a visit….lol….
Yes it is my what is going on between my daughter and son in law getting me down and i know that i can not help her…no i do not plan to hurt the guy…but he is on my wanna get rid of this guy list…now i have something to add to the previous blog think what if your daughter was on this blog and she showed u what some guy wrote to her…sometimes it does hit home. When I thought my troubles were over it home with me as well…me and her dad have been divorced since 1983…
then she tells u mom i want to speak to my dad…and that is one thing i will not deny her is her dad and some women would not even let the father of their children look at them.
David, I just want to be clear on something… I DO appreciate your time and I DO realize how much free stuff you’re putting out there. In fact, I find all your podcasts very inspiring (even beyond the dating life). Definitely keep up the good work!! I don’t know why everyone misinterpreted my original post.
Iggy
Thats the problem with emails…texts and postings.
We all can read between the lines and see what we want.
Its cool……i know you appreciate all of this otherwise you would have never posted.
As for the 37 dollars in lunches…how do you pull that off?
We are good!!!!
Is it worth 37 dollars? I am a platinum member I pay more than that and I don’t take full advantage of the services, I have always been good at learning by listening to others. I have been making the local grocery store my territory so to speak. I enter with a strong friendly personality. Tonight I came into the store and the night manager says over the loud speaker system “Good evening shoppers and hello Mr. Loughner”
Is it worth 37 dollars, it is worth much MUCH MORE THAN THAT!!!!! What you can learn from David can improve so much more than just your dating life. Self confidence can help you get though hard times, a strong positive attitude is a necessity!! I feel like a celebrity in that store for the first time in 25 years of shopping there.
$37 dollars should be considered as an investment in one’s future, not just some form of intertainment.
Paul Loughner
That’s “entertainment”. I hate when I misspell things. Paul Loughner
How do I pull that off? Well. By a week, I meant a work week… so that’s 5 days. That’s about $7.48 per day. I’m forced to eat in fast food restaurants, this is what happens when a college graduate can’t find a decent job after getting his degree.
I definitely agree that it’s all based on where you live (and obviously where you go to eat). I know in the center of Moscow, Russia; you will spend about $37 just to get a Big Mac meal from McDonald’s.
Iggy
You are on the fast food after college diet.
Mine was a box of pasta and a stick of butter.
i could make that last 2 days….the butter was good for about a week!!
Paul
Thanks!!!!!
I really appreciate what you had to say and as you know i am all about helping you guys out back there!!!
Off to DC in the morning!!!
Actually, David, I seriously considered the women’s boot camp in May, but the front porch is well in serious need, and I’m getting tired of walking down the steps like a little old woman. Its taken a long time for me to crawl out of the financial chasm I got stuck in after the split. I’m finally in a really great place all the way around, but just knowing that the light at the end of the tunnel is not another financial trainwreck for me to deal with is such a wonderful thing. Maybe you’ll have a bootcamp for snowbirds, and I’ll be able to warm up this winter in the southland.
Bertie
I have been there….had to pull myself off a scrap heap 11 years ago and totally understand.
Feels good when you can breathe again!!
Me Myself and I
Working at Wal Mart especially in Nashville… I live near one but it is a small supercenter the one I work for in Nashville is known as the rural Wal Mart…There are days it makes me wonder are we cashiers getting faster or are our customers getting fewer…Wal Mart is still hanging in there though I was told we were in the lead of Target…But I am just thankful to have a job and be able to check out customers…Oh Pete I greet my customers with a smile but there are days I would like to reach across that counter and slap one…but I can’t so when they make me angry I just give them their reciept with a smile and wish them a nice day. Then go talk to my co-workers about it…We can tell some stories.
Dave as long as I can keep my job I will try to stay with the community…until then…just pray that Obama and our Government can get us out of this if not this Economy is going to fall out from underneath us…If it were not for the working American citizens this economy will go down quickly…What they should do is hold out on the bail outs and keep that as a reserve and only bail out the military for we need our militia…health just in case we need medical attention that goes for our ambulance services as well…fire just in case we need them…law enforcement…to keep the crime at bay for there are going to be more lawbreakers than a few…I know thanks for the economic speech but if things don’t change we are heading in for a depression and people’s attitudes are not the same like it was when we were kids growing up in the sixties…
Sandra
If you’re talking bailouts and healthcare, I can give you about a million earfuls of that! Yes, David, I got all of the marital debt except his truck payment (yes, a very big truck, you make your own judgments from that). Even I draw my lines. but it saved me from a lot of arguing, fighting, and weird hatefulness. I just can’t believe I’m nearly there and expect to be done with it and debt free except the mortgage by the end of the year! At one point I thought it would never end, and to be able to fix things before they fall completely apart, is making me so gloriously happy! I suppose I’m easily pleased…
David: How can you allow Sandra to pay $37.42 per month on her Wal Mart earnings???? That is cruel:-)
Dan! Behave!
hey David
Why don’t you tell Iggy to listen to “What Your Excuse Audio”. Then tell him “that’s your ego talking.” LOL Then he can stop making excuses.
$37.00 really isn’t that much! lol
