Great, I like the Obama's suggestion from DW.
And the importance of actually dressing in a costume that reflects your personality. Many people think that dressing in a character it's a false thing do and just for the sake of having fun. People are not used to get embarrased, because they are ashamed sometimes to dress and talk like their idols or whatever. So Halloween is a perfect opportunity to fight this sense of embarrassment, because it is really helpful to overcome shyness.

Jack,

great idea. Yeah I think that acting like James Bond or some other uber-cool star is a good idea.

You have to not be worried about the outcome. All you can do is present yourself in the best light possible and not give a damn.

Of course, I am learning more about dealing with women and people in general but it seems that having a Zen-like detachment to all encounters is the way to go. You want to initially do the thing that seems hard, but the actual process of doing it should be effortless. Ok, ok. I admit it. I read a book called "Zen and the Art of Poker." lol

I have also read that meeting women and dating are like poker in that they are Zen-like activities. Other Zen-like activities are trading stocks, playing golf, and sales.

David - might you expound upon your "alter-ego" theory and the bravery that results from men donning costumes and suggest that it might be a good tactic to assume the character of someone else when out on the prowl to give yourself that added boost of confidence?

Whew. Long sentence.

But seriously, I've tried doing the George Clooney grin, the Daniel Craig strut, amongst other things, and it does two miracles for me: 1) I get out of my head and just ACT with complete panache 2) Whatever happens, happens...and if the outcome, somehow, is negative...it was never my fault, but George's or Daniel's.

Some might have an issue with this, saying its a shirking of responsibility, but I really think that men view themselves as lowly creatures and need to heighten their confidence.

Let me know what you think!

I went to a college Halloween party at the student center one year just to take pictures & got lots of fun & crazy pics.

One thing that cracked me up was this hot brunette who was dressed like a Playboy Bunny. Well, 5 guys from the men's swim team came(pun intended) dressed as, guess what? They were all painted white, except each one of them had a big black letter marked or painted on his chest so that when they were standing as a group in the proper order, they spelled "SPERM." Appropriate for a swim team, huh? lol

So when they spotted the Playboy Bunny girl, they started humming, jumping up & down real fast and then took off after her. When she saw them coming with a big grin on their faces, she tried to run away while laughing, but the sperm team caught her and they all started hugging her in a big huddle.

David, I think if you went as kanye west(smallcase here intentional), you might get beat up, mostly by women. Maybe by some girl dressed as taylor Swift or Pink.

When I was growing up I wanted to be Dracula. Perhaps, consciously or subconsciously because Drac got to bite girls on the neck, at least nibble a little. ;-)

Today, some part of me wants to go dressed as a Spartan warrior like King Leonidas or Maximus from Gladiator. Because inside, that's who I want to be. Except for the dying part.
