AWESOME! First of love the analogy
Secondly - LOVE LOVE the fact that you got into surfing! It is amazing isn't it? No better high - for me its like meditation - one of the only times in my life I can quiet all the negative and crazy talk in my head - like the comittee is on a lunch break - and I just enjoy being out there and in the moment. Although not sure how that equates to dating for me! :-)

So I was in Bali last month on my surf retreat and found out the coolest thing ever....Bali has NO SHARKS! No joke. Sharks has been my biggest fear since that damn movie when I was the same age! I lived on the ocean back east and wouldn't go in the water that whole summer!

So if you want a surf experience with no sharks - head to Bali baby!

And yes I aggree to date like a surfer - but as a woman in LA be careful dating typical so cal "surfer" dudes. Love guys who surf....love it more when they are actually employed in something other then just being a surf bum! LOL

David if you want to get some surfing in here in LA - just let me know!

Now all you have to do get one tube ride and you'll be hooked for life.

Glad that you had a fun time in Hawaii!
While I was there I went snorkeling; perhaps someday I will graduate to scuba diving.

Even wiping out can be fun. The ocean will pick you up and toss you through the air. Just try not to land head-first. Unfortunately, there are no good waves in Texas unless there is a hurricane.

Hey David,

What an awesome blog .... and an even more awesome video!!! :) I was wondering whether you were going to post any pictures of you in Hawaii ;)

Your blog really helps those of us who feel like they have made a few mistakes in their dating past to feel optimistic that our past does not equal our future, i.e., that we are not destined for evermore to be what we were. I have sometimes felt like when I meet someone new that my entire dating past (including every guy who ever broke up with me or cheated on me) was somehow tattood on my forehead.

This blog is very liberating ... it kinda gives us permission to put down a very heavy load that I think a lot of us carry around with the mistakes we've made or the bad history we've had in dating ... I feel so much lighter already!!! :) Thanks David!!! :)

word. surfing is exactly like dating, except it probably feels better, theres simply nothing more addictive on this earth than catching a wave! i also learn a lot about life through surfing, not just dating. And i definitely recommend it for everyone to try it out (except not on my break : p )
now you just need to learn how to ride the unbroken face of the wave david, so you won't have to ride all the way back to the shore and paddle back in.
