Let’s talk a bit about integrity today. Integrity is really related to honesty, and I think that integrity is really the benchmark of what determines whether you are a good or bad person.

Some really cool lyrics are in “Some Kind of Wonderful:” “I’ve got a sweet, sweet lovin’ woman, And she knows just how to treat me right.” What a great line. I’ve got a sweet, sweet loving woman who knows how to treat me right. How true that is.

Now before you jam my in-box with emails for next week. I want to set the record straight.

So, you find yourself feeling a bit alone and all your friends are married. You go to wedding after wedding and, of course, your friends’ wives come up to you and say, “When are YOU going to get married?”
You go to your first dinner party, and most of your friends — the ones who used to go out drinking with you a few years ago — are married and looking at you as the lone single guy. You’re like the Lone Ranger all by yourself.

I was in Walgreen’s today. My back has been bugging me, and when I went to get a massage the massage therapist recommended taking a bath in some Epsom Salts. So that’s what I was in Walgreen’s to buy.
At first, I couldn’t find them anywhere. I mean anywhere — I looked up and down every aisle. When I finally found some, they were in this plain blue Walgreen’s brand box that just said “Epsom Salts” on it. It was some of the worst packaging you’ve ever seen.
It was not sexy

Can you imagine falling down a hole, and then becoming stuck there after having a boulder fall on your arm? What are the odds that at the precise moment you fall in that hole, that a boulder would land on your arms and jam your arm so you can’t get it loose? It’s got to be a one in a million (or even one in a billion) shot, but obviously it happens since that true story was the premise for the movie 127 Hours. I recently saw that movie, and it was an unbelievable story of survival.

Its January 26th 2011. Let me ask you all two quick questions… How’s it going with your New Years Resolutions? And… How many of you are still holding to them? Today’s podcast is all about holding true to your word.

It’s no longer okay just to show up. It’s no longer okay just to say that you did it.

Sometimes people just really annoy me. It could be the person driving in front of me who is driving so slowly that I feel like I must honk my horn to teach them different rules of the road. It could be a close, personal friend I’m hanging out with who is just annoys me with everything he does.

I can’t tell you how many clients have come to me and said, “David, you’re my last resort. I’ve done the right things. I’ve been a good person. Yet, nothing ever happens to me. I never get asked out. I’m alone and I’m tired of being alone. Aren’t I entitled to a little happiness?” My response to them is a resounding, “No.”
